Special UU/UT systems:

Bohemia and France do not have a normal UU system, but rather have to research techs unlocking them. Bohemia can choose between:
Imperial Knight (561 UMOSU), which is unlocked after researching Luxembourg Dynasty (529 Luxembourg (Bo)) or
War Wagon (827 WAGON) which is unlocked after researching Hussite Beliefs (537 Hussite Beliefs (Bo)), which also unlocks the War Wagon upgrade tech. They can research only one of these two.

France can train:
Scots Guards (232 WBRSK) after researching Auld Alliance (470 Auld Alliance); in 15th century they can improve this unit by researching Order of the Fleur de Lys (471 Order of the Fleur de Lys).
If France researches the policy decision Papal Protector (543 Papal Protector (Fr)), they can also research Eternal Peace (83 Eternal Peace) in the 15th century, which unlocks Swiss Pikemen (765 UPLUM).

Some civilisations have their UU available starting in the 13th century, rather than the 14th. These are:

  • Brittany (Huns)
  • Scotland (Celts)
  • Wales (Britons)

Friesland (Vikings), Helvetia (Mayans) and Wales (Britons) train their UU at the Assembly Hall.
Flanders (Goths), Genoa (Turks), Lorraine (Saracens), and Saxony (Japanese) train their UU at the Guild Hall.
