The year is 1850 during the Edo period. Tokugawa Ieyoshi, an ancestor of the famous Tokugawa Ieyasu, rules Japan. Ever since Admirial Perry's forceful opening of Japan to the west his administration has been struggling. As he grows sick, power hungry individuals see an opportunity to marry into royalty. All around him minor governors, Daiymos and warlords attempt to curry favor and join the royal family.
The Samurai caste remains, but barely. In a rapidly modernizing world, many Samurai choose to leave their masters and seek fortune for themselves. They are known as "Ronin".
In the far southwest of Japan lies Chikuzen province; a relatively unknown corner of the country. There, a Ronin warrior is about to awake and embark on a journey which will change his life forever.
Features

I have had so much fun during the whole game, and grinned at the (happy) end.
Please make more scenario's/campaigns like this, it was absolutely brilliant.
10/5 if I could. |

Woh there ND, it's good to flatter the designer and all but 10/5 is going overboard.
It seems you got yourself the expansion now since your other post in your old scenario was for AoK. Good luck with designing again. Check the forums for pretty much everything. |

Hey, I'm glad you liked it :)
I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say that Tsubasa has one more adventure in store ;) |

Playability: 5
I found this RPG to be very fun, interactive, and enjoyable. Night Conqueror uses a unique fight system, taunt commands, and items to heal or improve you character. A big 5 here. This is probably the best scenario I have ever played.
Balance: 4
I played on moderate and found it to be quite easy. There were a few problems I ran into when fighting the first boss, but they weren’t disastrous. The rest of the scenario was easy but I did run out of gold you I had to find some more. There are also anti-cheats in this scenario which work perfectly.
Creativity: 5
One of the most creative scenarios I have seen in this or any other game. I never encountered a fight system like the one used in Tsubasa's Tale before and the boss battles were great.
Map Design: 5
I loved the map. It fit the Japanese-style rather well. The town was very well laid out too. The dried up lake was a great idea. I did, however, almost give a 4. Why? Well I didn't like the governors's palace. It looked really odd with the sandy shore and the bridge looks strange too. The last boss's lair was really bland too, but these are negligible in comparison to the rest of the map.
Story/Instructions: 5
Great story and the background is actually quite accurate with real history. The whole plot worked together nicely, but I think that the last boss should have been mentioned before hand. I am probably unclear in what I mean. See, when I am reading a book, I think it is rather odd when someone’s past acquittance is introduced in the end of the story. This happened in Tsubasa's Tale, but this was a minor setback. Great story, really. The Instructions were laid out very nicely and were clear too.
Additional Comments:
I greatly recommend this download even to those who don't like RPGs. If you haven’t played a scenario with taunt system then you will love this. To those who are offended by strong language, well be prepared to be offended a little in this scenario, but it is still worth playing in my honest opinion. |

Let's say it's one of my favorite maps, and although I have'nt designed too much (maybe about 50 maps and only 2 of them I posted xD) I have played 100's of scenario's and campaigns. :)
Well 5/5 thn if that pleases you Dtrungle ;) |

If you like RPG, this map will be your best choice!! Using skills in various situation will make you very interested.
Balance: 4
At the first time, it was very hard because of the 1st boss fight. That fight needs your strategies.
But after knowing the way to beat him easier, this map is not so challenging. Because the other parts are not so difficult.
But it's not so easy, too. Its difficulty is normal in my opinion.
Creativity: 5
Wow, using skills by typing 1 and 2 is very cool.
Map Design: 4
Great, but not the best. It's perfect but nothing is remarkable.
Story/Instructions: 5
Very Cool Story and instructions.
Additional Comment:
I really enjoyed it. About the 'playability', it's the one of my best.

Tsubasa's Tale follows the story of a alcholic Samurai and his quest for Money in 1850's Japan.
Playability: 5
I really enjoyed Tsubasa's Tale. I am a big fan of RPG's and this one is really something. It has a great story along with a beutiful map design and lots of twists and turrns.
Balance: 5
This scenario is quite challenging. I found myself dying a few times, but that didn't stop me from trying again. The roads to the bosses were covered in enemies and once your a past them you have to fight the Bosses themselves. This scenario is very challenging but not impossible.
Creativity: 5
This map brings me back to those vewry old games in which you must get to the end of the level to fight the BOSS. In this game though you must fight three BOSSES. Also this scenbario isn't just a full RPG. there are some Puzzle elements in it too. Also the Road repairs which were done (I think) by invisible tiles.
Map Design: 5
This map includes alot of walking but you can spen the time looking at the beutiful scenary you pass. The Map Design is truley astonishing. The villiage were you start is very pretty with overlaped buildings. There is a wonderful use of GAIA objects and terrain mixing.
Story/Instructions: 5
The Tale of Tsubasa was super. A drunk samurai wasting his life in the Japanese taverns, suddenly being asked by the Govenor to kill some Bandits. The Instructions on this scenario were very clear and I knew what to do at all points in the game.

Seeing as this scenario has received eight reviews already, I doubt this review is of much need to be written. Nontheless, since this is one of the few scenarios I've played in quite a while, I might as well give it a shot!
PLAYABILITY: 4+
My total game time reached up to about 3 hours, on fast speed that is. Including all the reloads from the first boss battle especially, it probably goes up to 4 hours, which is quite a long time for a relatively small map. Four hours of great fun. Most of the scenario is great to play; the first boss especially is both very challenging and very creative, what with the hallucinations and all, and the music is so unique and so fitting that it brings it to another level entirely! However, there are some dull points as well, such as the long strolls through the forests where nothing really happens at all. The story archetype, where you know that you're up against three bosses and that's it, also brings down the excitement a little, although it's kept high by the humour and creative aspects of the scenario. Also, looking around for Vermillion Tiger and just encountering easy-to-fend-off bandits wasn't all that much fun either, despite the creative touches put in here and there.
Overall, this scenario has its awesome parts that on their own would deserve a string five, but it also has weaker parts that bring it down to a four; a strong one nontheless, but still not top notch.
BALANCE: 4
The balance was also very varied. The first boss fight was very well balanced out; it took me six-seven tries to win, but it never seemed impossible, it was all due to the fact that I'm quite a lousy player! Other parts of the scenario were far too easy. The final boss I managed to defeat in a single try, and I found it quite a let-down seeing as the bosses seemed to become less awesome for every one I beat!
In total, some parts were excellently balanced, others were much too easy, even for a mediocre player like myself.
CREATIVITY: 5
This humorous antihero novelette-style scenario was very creative in several ways. First off, it is a very well working RPG, which is a good start seeing as that wasn't what the game was designed to be but the scenario still succeeds at it. Second, the story is quite unique and it's interesting to follow. I find it to be a sort of parody on the stereotypical AoK scenario, and just stories from books and movies in general, where the hero often finds out he's been tricked all along and then switches sides to the real good guys. Here, our not-so-loveable antihero is just there for the cash, and while he does ultimately change sides (however unwillingly), it's still for the money. Other very creative parts are, of course, the hallucinations, the very varied boss battles, and the music. Overall this is top notch quality.
MAP DESIGN: 5
The map is a strategic masterpiece and for every fight there are several environmental aspects you need to take into consideration, that help against the enemy. As for the aesthetics, the map is appealing to the eye and there are few flaws, none that immediately pop up in my mind. Well, the one thing would be that it isn't all that realistic that a band of bandits that plague a village have bases THREE TIMES LARGER than the village itself, but hey, it works for the gameplay! So in conclusion, the map is neat and strategically pleasant, and deserves a top score.
STORY & INSTRUCTIONS: 5
Like I've mentioned already, the story is quite unique and easy to follow. The humour and parody are great, and the instructions are easy to follow and help you quite a lot. A great story, sufficient and easy to grasp instructions, and a suitable bitmap. A full score.
For some final words I'll just say download it. Unless you have a firm hatred of RPGs because of traumas as a child or something like that, you're going to enjoy it, even if RPGs aren't your favourite normally. |

Great story!
There is one glitch I have: When I have saved and loaded the game, I cant anymore taunt to heal myself. So I'm stuck on first boss. |
