"The war never truly ended, did it? The trouble I felt day after day when she was killed... the grief, the agony.
No. It was foolish of me to think it would end with Grustik's death.
It was only the beginning."
The long fragile peace between two warring kingdoms wastes over days and years; time holds no forbearance for those unwilling to face the truth of a returning past. For Jaerith, today is a time for celebration and a time for grievance within the bleak walls of Erryth. Winter marks his forty-third birthday, but this same cold season also represents the moment in time when his wife fell to war, and the old count struggles to put aside memory's embrace.
Meanwhile, unknown and inexorable, darkness once more treads across Erertiya's borders. Vengeance leads its way, a fierce king who would see his thirst for retribution satisfied for a war lost and a father slain, nineteen years ago.

*** This campaign received the award BEST STORY in the Game of the Year Awards of 2009 ***
UPDATES:
Version 1.1 (16/12/09): Minor grammatical changes made. Minor bug fixed where the final cut-scene did not eventuate due to the scout becoming jammed in the western gateway and cut-down by remaining enemy units.
Version 1.2 (20/12/09): Inadequate timing sequences moving enemy units around while in the fortress have mostly been improved, and the bug involving the engineer still remaining in the fort after the game has ended has also been fixed. A few other minor modifications made, together with the inclusion of a "tips" file.
Version 1.3 (23/12/09): Standard difficulty significantly revised. Less archers assault the fortress, and the HP and AP of the three main enemy commanders have been decreased accordingly. Player one's archers and onagers have had their HP marginally increased. Wardrik's stats have also been rectified with respect to each difficulty level.
Version 1.4 (4/01/17): Major update made to further polish the file, including revisions made to all dialogue, story and hints. Numerous bugs fixed. |

To my "compatriote" G Omega: I can only encourage you to made a bilingual scenario. Also, now that I know that there are declared francophones here, I declare that my next creation, an historical multiplayer scenario (I think about "814-The Battle for Europe" for title), will be bilingual (in english and in sanskrit). |

Hey dragonslayermcmx,
At what point does the file crash? That is very unfortunate to hear. |

That must be really frustrating. I haven't heard of that before; do you run an old or new computer? It probably wouldn't matter anyway. I'm not sure what I can do my end as obviously it runs fine on my machine, but if you would like to see the second scenario, simply hit 'enter' and type "I R WINNER" to complete scenario one. ;-) |

I have a pretty old computer its still a windows XP and its not running very fast, but other scenarios and campaings work (as i said) fine.
I r winner i did. The Second Scenario works well, but i don´t care about the cutscene actually, but more about the epic battle.[Edited on 05/16/11 @ 08:59 AM]

It is a very good campaign but is difficult for me :S I can only reach in the first scenario when it says that I already kill 1500 soldiers in standard diffcult.
Do you have some extra hints or strategies?? because I really want to finish it without cheating |

pelusasebas, I'm glad you're enjoying the game. Regarding strategy, all I do is focus most of my concentration at the western entrance into Erryth, with most men holding this bottleneck. Use your longbowman and onagers to intense effect here to knock down as many enemy units as possible, so that your men won't have many to defend against. Another thing is when enemy captains enter the fray micromanage your archers against them to take them out quickly, as this will cause a periodic morale drop in the opponent in that area (basically deducts from their AP). I usually put Count Jaerith here plus the king's guards to deal out death to the enemy, and to support the weaker huskarls around them. Keep General Hamandis plus a number of troops, including the monk, in reserve to deal with any further threats you may encounter. You can use the monk to convert (and thus kill) a certain enemy captain not too long into the game.
As for the eastern entrance, you should be able to hold this for a substantial amount of time by simply tasking your Guard of the White Dragon units to the forefront and well outside the gateway to force the enemy into a bottleneck. The enemy units will cram and your onager and archers here should be able to do the rest. Another thing is to use your archers against the berzerk units immediately (jaguar warriors) as they deal considerable damage to your men.
An alternate strategy would be to pull all your men back to the centring tower and defend from there. Happy killing. :-)[Edited on 07/09/11 @ 09:06 AM]

Hey there, i now know why my game crashed, it was because i opened some of the sound files before i played and media player corupted it.
i redownloaded it and i have to say, this is amazing! I really enjoyed it!!! Please make more like this, it would be a blessing for the blacksmith really!
My heart went really fast at hard difficulty even at the cutscenes, this really deserves 5 stars!
Good job! |
