The Conquerors 1.0c |
Mithril Knight started a post about a community project proposal and I signed up to help out with it. So I made a short trailer about the story and what happens. Granted it's not the best cinematic scenario but it's not bad for my first one. Anyway, see it for yourself.

The Tales of AOKH-Trailer is a community project teaser created by Joshua4missions based on the community proposal of Mithril Knight. Although the story is quite original, it's full of flaws and holes. And regarding the scenario, it's from a very low quality.
Playability: 2
Overall, this teaser was not fun to watch. It's very short, it has no music at all and a single sound a effect. A teaser/trailer is supposed to be a non-playable scenario, but you actually have to control some units.
Balance: 2
This teaser didn't run smoothly at all. The timing was somewhat quick, but the major flaw is the lack of the change view effect. You practically have to follow a unit manually, and that disrupts the "cutscene".
Creativity: 2
There is a few creative aspects in this scenario, mainly the story. I liked the idea of the dictator Aro calling Sly_Guy to stop the attacks, the group called "Anti-Arocracts". But the allies of Sly_Guy, (named after the volunteers of the project), have no dialogue at all. Also, regarding the map design, I didn't see anything creative. It's just a quickly done map lacking eye-candy.
Map Design: 1
This is the lowest rank in the game. The map design here is horrible. This is worse than a random map. There is no use of elevation, no terrain mixing, square roads and trees. My advice to the author is to work on the map design much more.
Story/Instructions: 2
The story of the game is original, but it makes no sense. Why there are some people that doesn't like the idea of having Aro as a dictator? Who is Sly_Guy, a complete stranger who appears to save Aro? I'm not saying that you should reveal the whole story, but a little more would be OK. The grammar and spelling is horrible. The sentences are lacking dots, periods and sometimes words. Also, the players don't know what resolution and speed to use.
Additional Comments:
I expect that the designers can improve to do a better work, for it seems like an interesting idea. I hope that the scenario itself can be much beter than this.

I agree with you 100% Teoti, I spent less than 24 hours on it. I really made no real effort to make it a good scenario. Everyone, please don't judge this as my best talent. This was just something I thought about. If you want to see my latest search for my RPG titled "The Prince, the Sword, and the Gems" in the SD&M Forum.

joshua, update this teaser, so it looks better, something of that rate could be done in less than 20 minutes. |

Joshua, I saw your current project. Comparing them, you've greatly improved. Keep it up. |
