My entry to the Totally Terrain Contest, hosted by Tank_fst.
Two once peaceful countries, at war. The map has the two countries, a big battle, many castles, and some villages. The map design is pretty good(in my opinion). I didn't add many trigger tricks as this is meant to be a Terrain contest. Anyway, hope you like it.
If anyone wishes to use this for a scenario/campaign of theirs then feel free to just please give me proper credit, thanks.
Instructions are included with the file so there's no need to mention it here.
Very pretty map. I might use some aspects of this map for my own scenario and credit you for that.

Edit: Okay, when you go to test the map please delete the last trigger. It tends to crash the game when the trigger fires. Sorry for any inconvenience. :)

Sorry but our computer is packed in storage for safely reasons. My dad didn't want anyone to steal it while we're on holiday. Sorry guys, just delete the last trigger, it's not too hard. :)

"Countries At War" is an impressive attempt hitting on wide range of positive notes. Portraying a war raging between various feudal powers, the map presents a good number of areas showing the current and prior effects of the wars. There was plenty of cities and citadels controlled key points of access to the kingdoms. Music was utilized which was somewhat rare at the time, and some key sound effects helped add some zest to key points-and did i mishear that, or was that the Kretharn war horn sounding? Hearing that sound spooked me for a second, until i instantly realized i fortunately didn't have to hold them off this time around. I love the overall concept and its a really great setup for a top notch showcase scenario.
So after all that praise, whats the problem? Basic map design, unfortunately. Although the map is reasonable and adequate in appearance from high above it doesn't hold up very well on a normal unit view. The forests are quite simple, being placed with the terrain tool with little mixing around them, flower patches are scattered haphazardly out in the open, and the roads are bland indeed. Minor detailing is not a strength either, with instances of trees growing oddly on top of ruins, some white outlines showing, and cliffs with very clearly exposed diagonals. The cities are of a somewhat nondescript nature lacking fine details and being a bit too overgrown with forests. The seas are a bit jagged with too much reliance on the tiny brush which left many sharp edges resulting in a chaotic blend of water types. These shorelines lack details and are entirely barren in some areas like a random map. The map is never an eyesore to look at, certainly not, but neither is it particularly beautifully crafted.
