Hi Veteran, im kind of shocked no one has reviewed or commented on it for over a week! So I decided to playtest for ya and let you know some things! I havnt been around here in a long time btw, but to start, I loved the ideas you put in their. Their actually new to me! And Ive never seen ideas utilized like that before. The smoke screen for one, hehehe, that was interesting and I think i figured it out. Im surprised to see different talent from a young and new person on here. Althoug you made it a campaign-it only has 'one' scenario...since it could still be considered in playtesting/beta stage, id keep it at a scenario status, file it under either Projects or Single Player Scenarios. A pointer on the stone quest, at first I figured it wasnt working...then I realized you must've meant to bring the workers back, not Mathew. So let the player know to bring the stone workers back for that quest. On Bleedyn attacking 30 minutes after the first worker is created...well I bought the town center and created several workers, however, apparently its easy enough with just the 4 men and Mathew along with the siege weapons to destroy Bleedyn before 30 minutes was up, Im sure I did it in under 30. I chased the king through several castles until finally cornering him to his death. With that said, I dont see the need to even mess with getting more of an army amassed through normal buildup. The player is easily able to achieve the victory through careful management of the base players and siege weapons he recieved. All the other quests I noticed have worked fine. Although when I had bought the barracks, Town Center, Castle, Blacksmith, I realized well...I do have a siege onager, their able to clear paths through forests. So I did that, im not sure if you meant that to be done or not, however when I wasnt looking and had left my onager just below the houses below the TC and then I came back, it had become a mangonel! This is after completing the quest for The Experiment. Another pointer is for destroying the eastern barbarians, let the player know that he must ransack the buildings also. I only thought I needed to kill the people and the buildings could be left. More work on especially the Bleedyn city in eyecandy, details would be good. Overall this is more than the common Joan of Arc style campaign. One last pointer is with the instructions, it lasted throughout the entire campaign at the top. Id have it removed after 12 seconds or more. And the instruction for quests could easily be done better through Display Instruction effects instead of Send Chat. I got constant mumbled up rows of chat by accident-clicking to many people, which started more chatting because of accepted quests. Perhaps a rewrite of how that works, you could take a look at other campaigns to see how it can work differently. Fixing the grammar and punctuation for the whole campaign would be a smart move. Finally, hey, this is an excellent start, good job man! :D |
