STORY:
A beautiful princess is locked up in a far-away castle, and it's up to the Brave Knight In Shining Armour with as much personality as a piece of cardboard to save her. Does that premise sound familiar? I'm sure it does, it's the most classic and cliché fairytale imaginable.
This cinematic is that story. Except it's not. Five failed fairytale heroes set out to save the kidnapped princess, not so much out of care for the princess or a need for a noble quest, but because they want to become famous fairytale heroes. Only one will survive this perilous journey.
ABOUT THE SCENARIO:
This is a comedy, like most of what I do, and it's both a parody of and an homage to classic fairytales with damsels in distress, valiant knights without fear, awe-inspiring castles and lands and fear-striking dragons. If you have enjoyed any of my other humorous scenarios (Gwyndlegard, Jones Blond, Marvin and Rob, The Big Knights etc), you will most likely enjoy this.
This is also my entry to Mashek's AoKH Cinematic Scenario Contest of 2010, my fourth entry to the contest since 2006!

You forgot to mention in the credits that "No BeaverGoats were harmed in the making of this film."
All in all, LOL. |

Almost correct. I did forget to add "A whole bunch of beaver goats were harmed during the production of this cinematic scenario, as we had to do fifteen takes of that leg-chopping scene". :P |

Good example of humorous Cinematic Scenario. It grantee to not have a wink of seriousness. |

My Fair Princess is Lord Basse's winning entry to the 2010 Cinematic Contest hosted by Mashek. My Fair princess beat the only other entry, Sebastien's “Blood Memories”, by just one clear point, leaving the contest at probably the closest contest in AOKH History.
My Fair princess follows the story of five daring wannabe heroes risking their lives to save a beautiful princess. The scenario is based on and inspired by Bonnie Tyler's “Holding Out for a hero” Song.
Playability: 5+
The cutscene is very enjoyable. Its is a classic fairytale story involving Five Wannabe Heroes, A Beautiful Princess, a Dark lord and, a Beaver Goat. The game includes a hell of a lot of humour and novelty, whilst also including a classic and cliché fairytale story. The game is 23 minutes of pure awesomeness, jokes and classic clichés. You will find yourself laughing the whole way through. Another plus of this game is that no bugs or lag was found anywhere,. The game has a brilliant flow.
Balance: 5-
Balance for a cinematic scenario means how well the scenarios flow and how well the dialogue and music fit in time with the game. My Fair princess does it perfectly. The flow was simple but executed well. It was mainly an A – B – C type cutscene and was pretty straightforward. But timed extremely well. The story is based on “Holding Out for A Hero” by Bonnie Tyler and the song is implemented into the scenario excellently. All of the other small sound effects and pieces of music also fit in well and are timed brilliantly. The dialogue is perfect if not a little to fast for slower readers but not bad enough to lower this score.
Creativity: 5+
In two words, Extremely Creative. My Fair Princess is a very creative story, taking all of the classic clichés and turning them into a humorous adventure. The scenario is very fun and has a novel soundtrack. I love the fact that it is based on “Holding Out For A Hero” by Bonnie Tyler. I love the scenes where the “Heroes” are trying to get to the castle and are being chased by the Dark Lords army and all end up dying. I love the part where one gets hit by a car. The scenario also has a creative map design an outstanding trigger tricks. Another creative idea is that Lord Basse has created the cinematic as though it was a movie, creating a movie banner and using real actors including, Christopher Lee, Sean Connery and Emma Watson, as the cast. Very ingenious.
Map Design: 4+
The Map design was very good. It fits really well for the fairytale story, happy villages, creepy forest and the evil lords Castle, however for some scene the map design didn't fit as well as it could. Sometimes it was a bit over-done or too bland. However, the map design is still fantastic and includes great terrain mixing and use of foliage, animals and GAIA Objects. Elevation and cliffs are used well. The design of the town is outstanding and the triggers used to make it look alive work very, very well. In all a very satisfactory and excellent map design.
Story/Instructions: 5+
The Classic Fairytale Story using all of the possible clichés imaginable. It is very humorous, one of the funniest things in the Blacksmith, a traditional Lord Basse scenario. I really enjoyed the story and the way it was implemented into the scenario. The dialogue, as I said before, was perfect if not a little to fast for slower readers. The Instructions were too perfect and told you more than you needed to know; running time, rating (PG – Pure Genius), setup information and installation information. In all there is no way of not knowing how to install and setup this cinematic without being a fairly big idiot.
Additional Comments:
Overall My Fair princess is a highly enjoyable and humorous scenario. Watch it if you want to have 23 minutes of pure awesomeness and laughs.
A Highly recommended Download and a deserved win.
Well Done and Congratulations on the Win.
