Man-at-arms to generic swordsman v1.2

Author File Description
File Details
Version: The Conquerors
The idea behind this mod was to create a generic swordsman with a round shield that could be used for any number of roles. The DBA-on-line images which inspired this unit appear below the unit itself in the screenshot.

Updated: Shield backing is now a dark brown wood color. Corpses now have chainmail.

I couldn't figure out which anchors were causing the unit to bob while standing. The unit now moves very little when facing S, SE, or SW, but no longer bobs.

UPDATE2: I've added slp's which replace the two-handed swordsman graphics (which have the same number of frames as the Husklar and Champion among others). Just create you own mod with MPS and import the slp's for whichever unit you want to rplace (asuming it has the same number of frames).

Nope I don't feel picked on. Cut and paste is all I'm talented enough to do (that is I don't know how to 3-d model and am not artistic enough to make bitmap units from scratch).

These are all just units I'm making for my Romanain history campaign and since I'll be borrowing quite a bit of other peoples work, I wanted to share mine.

I was actually relatively pleased with the way this unit came out though.
mario_1998 how can i use this??

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking about the general functionality of the unit (why you would want to use these graphics), or how to install the mod pack, or how to use SLP's to replace another units graphics?
Den cekke Hi, I think you've done a great job. Especially with the mail armor.
May I use your unit for my mod?
I'll credit you for it.

Yes. ANYONE that wants to use any of my units feel free to do so.

I think Sebastiens review is not fair.

Copypaste units are better than 3d-modeled units, they fit the game way better, especially when NOT being too far from it (like said elves). And they take a huge amount of work!

I love this unit and would have given it a 4.5, I think. Just a perfect addition to any game.

John, if you feel like a file is underrated you can either post a review for it yourself, or ask for someone else to review it in the review requests thread at the forums.

I'd just be repeating what Sarn already said, so I see no real need. Just wanted to point out 3.5 is not enough in my opinion, but I will respect Seb's.
Ovoilab Hey, I find this modification really useful for the Roman era custom campaign I am building. Keep up the good work Sir Dave3377, hope you don't get tired doing more of these. How about T-Knights carrying a shield or pikeman and huskarls carrying the same big shield like the centurions in AOE so that they would appear in uniform when we put them in formation... cheers!!! You have done a great deal of favor for people like me who are having a handicap when it comes to modding images this small.

Erechel Hello, can I use it for my mod of Song of Ice and Fire? It will be just perfect to replace the Northmen heavy infantry
