"Prelude" is a short cinematic,been a prologue to an upcoming Campaign/Single Player Scenario.
It introduces the main theme of it and people are aware of what the hero is going to do.
The introduction stands well and is intelligible,meaning no bugs or confusing situations. The theme is this of Brotherhood: a team of people having sworn to protect the innocents and restore order in their lands. The story flows normally,beginning from the little at first number of "heroes" and
leading to a strong community,having started their liberating purpose. I got enthralled by the plot, waiting to see a nice happening, but...my enthusiasm did not last much... What came next was a small fighting, the presence of Rhodin (the enemy) and the remaining of few of the Brotherhood, expecting someone fulfill their intentions and let order come back.
The plot is too simple,showing the
project's theme in minimalistic way. Someone may even believe the upcoming work will be as
plain as this prologue is. The prologue is intended to allure the "audience" and keep them alerted about your work,that's why it should be set in prettier way.
The music you have chosen to follow the prologue fits the cinematic. The few changing views used to unveil the story that follows are well-implemented. The fact you freeze the units instead of using a simple AI file (e.g. Immobile Unis AI) to prevent them from moving it weird,though.
Referring to the size of the whole pack (music and scenario), it's more likely that more will download and see this prologue if its size is less. It must be preferable if the size (not the length) of the song is smaller and a couple of sounds for special sound effects would be included.
The theme is clear and the plot runs well,but there is very little effort put in means of creativity. The few changing views and the freezed units could be handled in different way. The Brotherhoods' and Rhodin's bases are weirdly organized. In addition,using 3 instead of 2 players here is proving to be unecessary. As alternative,you could simply be the 1st one (as red) or place a unit of yours at the corner of the map,preventing any accidental loss.
Map Design: 3-
The project's theme is been presented in a friendly,but simple environment; the initial and the final views of the map have the most delightful design. The country is mainly composed of forests (that's the resume' of the prologue) and some road and dirt terrain. The added gaia units enhance its image,too.
The map is small-sized,so it can somehow justify the case. However,there is always room for improvement; the map's design can become even better if more attention is paid.
The cinematic's function is this of an introduction to your upcoming project,talking about a person who will finally liberate the country from Rhodin.
There are no recommended settings, nor any helpful information for any case of misleading situations or if someone will just need to look at. Although the plot is understandable, including more detail proves to be more effective sometimes.
"Prelude" can be a very entertaining project despite its light,not-too-well-developed prologue.Much care and time is needed for the best result possible,so there is plenty of potentiality that can be put in.
A good presentation usually comes to be far more profitable than you can imagine.
To sum up, if you spend some time to improve the cinematic's quality (increasing its length and enhancing its content),it will gain more popularity.
