Oh my goodness, you know your in for something special when the population limit reads 870\200 at the opening.
Its amusing enough if you simply want a massive pulverizing session, but even the siege gameplay is a bit clunky and not designed for smooth attacks and counter-attacks. Its more like pulverizing a large array of B&D AI bases.
Incredibly the player is provided a full B&D setup despite the population limit of 200 and starting forces of over 800 troops.
I dont find this enjoyable because of the difficulty and hassle of marshaling the players vast army into a cohesive attacking unit, especially when its obvious the defenders cannot stack up against this force when assembled. I whittled them down with minor attacks very quickly and a concerted effort would be a cakewalk. They only counter attack in piecemeal formations.
The player outnumbers the enemy by 800+ to 300+ and the enemy is even contained within the city by some convenient palisades. Its not hard to pound the bombard towers guarding the gates into rubble. Their only good units are cataphracts, halbs and skirms. Janissaries and your many hero artillery, hussars and cavaliers etc etc can handle this force very easily.
This exact siege has been done dozens of times in AoC and elsewhere, and as i often say: giving the player 870 units to smash into the enemy deathball\doombase isnt creative.
Map Design 1
Its a custom map, but its too poor for even a 2;its at most points inferior to a random map with huge swathes of blank grass, and big chunky forests. The sea is an entirely unmixed zone and there is naval combat on it, making it a playable area that needs love.
Its the bare minimum of objectives combined with some dialogue and such, not much overall.
A poor point of presentation is the file and campaign names. I actually couldnt find it at first and had to poke around.
The quality of english and grammar was very low. Not merely bad spelling, but broken sentences.
Final thoughts: If your in the mood to assault a fortress without little regard to consequences, it might be worth a play.
