After watching some of the fast castle recorded games in the Blacksmith, I thought I'd try it. This is my first attempt at the tactic so there was a lot of pausing and idle villager time, but with practice it could work.
I think I've just about got the hang of herding deer and luring boar so a fast castle was achievable, but my question is this: With most players flushing at around 15 mins or less (in my limited experience) is there any point trying for a fast castle? Maybe on a massive map with few players, but that's unlikely.
It was against the easiest computer AI which resigned before my castle was built (fail on my part..!) and obviously against human players I'll need to learn how to do everything I did here without pausing - is it worth the effort or should I just learn to flush like the masses?
I think fast castle is viable if you're a pocket player in a team game, on certain maps. I somehow doubt it's any use on 1v1 Arabia. Even the fastest castles will be 4-5 minutes behind the fastest feudals, which leaves ample time for a flusher to cause irreparable damage to your economy.
