Really?! I played this scenario a lot (I was sort of a playtester), and the enemies always go after the petard- they only stop when the heroes attack them. I think you missed the hard part simply because you're more experienced and you know how to protect vulnerable units so well you do it without noticing- people with less micromanagement skills might have serious difficulties at the part where you walk past the spawn point.
P.S. I supplied Thekingof555 with the music during the escape scene, but I originally made it longer. Thekingof555 made it shorter afterwards, I guess he overshot it a little. Ah well.
