"The Master Of Elements Episode 1" is a short RPG scenario. It generally makes a good use of triggers for various effects including a simple spell system. The main letdown of the game is its very underdeveloped storyline.

Playability: 4
Taking into account that the author is a new designer, this game is rather enjoyable. There is something going on at all times, so you never get the chance to get bored. Also, the action that is going on is really immersive and the spell system is a nice addition although it needs further refining. A good amount of attention has been given to triggerwork also, which is a lot above the average for newbies here at AOKH.
However, the role-play quality of the game requires more attention to be given to the story itself. We don't get any clue as to who the main character is, what he is doing on the island or who his enemies are. Making the backstory better would greatly increase the immersivity of the game.
Also, some other little details tend to have a bad effect on the game experience as a whole, such as the chatlines that run much too fast, especially in the final section (the one with the ships).

Balance: 4
I found that the game was rather well balanced, especially the ship battle scene. Some parts were a little bit too easy though, especially for a game that lasts this short. The final battle on the island for instance was ridiculously easy.

Creativity: 3
The game is not very original in storyline and gameplay. As I said, the spell system is interesting, but a little simplistic, and the shortness of the game doesn't allow the player to use it too much. Also, the lack of a real backstory doesn't help to make this score higher.

Map Design: 4-
In all honesty this category would probably rank between a 3 and a 4, but I see potential so I decide to go with the higher grade. However, there are lots of improvements to be made. The terrain could really use further mixing, the south road is unnaturally straight, you overdid the use of sea rocks of the same type in the water, there are some broken cliffs here and there, and the use of forest paths is a bit exagerrated (though in some parts of the map it has a good effect). The water cliffs however are horrible. I understand why you used them, as you didn't want the units on the other side to interfere with the earlier part of the game, but that could've been solved by different, better looking means, such as... a water gate for instance?

Story/Instructions: 3--
The only clues as to the backstory are in-game, and only such as the fact that your name is Munir and that you are fighting some kind of empire which has its base on an island. How you became a prisoner, who your sidekick is, how you got to have your magic powers... none of this is even close to being explained. A much more detailed story would do wonders for the game, because its other aspects are really promising and the story happening in-game has potential.
Other things that could be further refined are the instructions screen, which would be nicer to be updated with new objectives instead of having all the objectives listed from the very beginning, as well as some grammar mistakes, but nothing really bad.

Additional Comments:
All in all this is a very promising start into scenario design, though there is lots of room for improvement. This is a pretty decent download and will give you a good 30 minutes of gameplay. I really hope my review helps you with your further work and I will be looking forward to it.
