Playability: There was no fun in this. You are william wallace on an island with a big fortress and you are fighting against edward longshanks with a little base, no units some villagers and some recources to collect. 1
Balance:
The player had 430 units, what were like 250 cavaliers, 130 longbowman, 100 teutonic knights, 40 trebuchets and some more. The player had a huge city, with duble and triple walls/gates, protected of 10-20 accursed towers, and 10-20 bombard towers. The enemys castle was really little and had not a single unit! 1
Creativity: Not a single trigger, not a single idea! 1
Map Design: Square Roads, Square Island, Square forest. Everything square. Default Road, default grass, some cliffs... The base was filled with buildings. The enemy had some deserted lumbercamps, mills, and mining camps, what were almost totally surrounded by recources. 1
Story/Instructions: No Instructions, no story, no loosing message, no winning message, no starting message. 1
Additional Comments: I suggest you to download some other scenarios, to know how this is put together. Also look in the faq´s and learn the basic of triggers.
In Closing: Probaly one of the worst scenarios uploaded in the blacksmith!

PLAYABILITY: 1
Remember when Age of Empires II and it's fantabulous scenario editor were brand new to you, and you tried to make a first scenario? You didn't know what triggers were or what these pesky "instructions" were supposed to be, so you just added out two forts and a buttload of soldiers, gave yourself a gigantic advantage over the enemy, and thought up the story (if any) as you went along. If someone else played it, it wouldn't have made much sense. "THE BEST" is that kind of a scenario, even though I think by the scenario's title and description that it's meant as a joke. Still, it isn't much fun to play at all, and thus not getting any higher score than a 1.
BALANCE: 1
With 99999 of every resource, a starting army of maybe 200-300 soldiers, and an enemy with a tenth of your resources and no army to speak of, it's easy to just cross the bridges and steamroll the enemy camp. No challenge whatsoever.
CREATIVITY: 1
There is nothing in the scenario to warrant giving it a score higher than 1. There are no triggers, no story, all of the map design is squarey and unappealing. It's more organized than a scenario featuring just 2,000 war elephants vs 65,000 villagers on a green field, but it's not eye-catching in any way.
MAP DESIGN: 2-
I'm going to give this a weak 2 simply because I can see that some effort was put into the map. The map overall is very squarey, and there isn't much appealing to look at at all. The authour does try to use eye candy to make a better looking graveyard, and certain parts (like a castle in the middle of the island) don't look too shabby; the construction is basically good, but it would need a lot of fixing up to make it look good. This gets a 2 simply because the scenario shows that some effort has been put into it, at least the designer didn't just hit the "Generate Random Map" button and add out the two bases.
STORY & INSTRUCTIONS: 1
There is no story, and there are no instructions. Instructions are hardly needed as you quickly can guess that you must cross the bridge and defeat your enemy, but some motivation to why your ginormous army want to kill off a seemingly peaceful neighbour would be nice. This does not warrant a score higher than a 1.
In conclusion - not worth the download.
Other comments: The title and description of the scenario makes me tink this was uploaded as a joke, to get reviews just like dragonslayer's that didn't get how this was supposed to be the best scenario ever. I hope my initial review hit home and didn't come across as insulting, but this is the actual score I'd give the scenario. [Edited on 08/17/11 @ 08:16 PM]
