The battle of Hattin 1187 AD
(Ager sanguinis - the Field of Blood)
This campaign consists of one scenario. It includes one .cpx campaign file and many sound files in .mp3 format. Unzip the campaign file and all soundfiles into your Age of Empires II folder. They should go into the right directories. All MP3 files start by string '1187-'; so it is not hard to remove files, if you wish to get rid of them.
Features:
X Another approach to fixed force scenario (Increased HP extend the life of the unit and postpone the end of the battle, Extra attack value represents the morale of the troops) Your tactical decisions are even more important than your skill of fighting!

- Comprehensive scenario instructions, hints and objectives
- More than 250 triggers for a single battle
- Plenty of new sounds and music
- 3 different levels of playing (NORMAL, MODERATE, HARD)
- All characters are based on true historical persons
The scenario is based on historical facts, although some events are not 100% historically accutare.
Story:
In 1095 AD Pope Urban II called for a crusade to bring the Holy Land under Christian control, declaring, “God wills it!” Four years later the crusaders captured Jerusalem and massacred the inhabitants following a bloody siege. The crusaders carved out several small kingdoms in the Middle East centered on powerful castles and fortified cities.
In 1170 AD a new, powerful leader rose to lead the Muslim counterattack. For a while Saladin, as he was known in the West, maintained an uneasy peace with the crusaders. However a series of provocations by the crusaders broke the truce and finally forced his hand. In 1187 AD Saladin gathered a large army and laid siege to Tiberias. The Crusaders went for the bait and marched to the rescue… |

Good job on this campaign! It's very, very good. But, I know you could have forseen this one coming, Ulio is a better FF campaign. But heck, this one is right up there. I'm not trying to put you down, this is a great campaign. But when people say that it is the best campaign ever made I sorta frown at them. |

The Campaign is of course excellent, but I must say a thing which I should have said earlier.
The Battle of "Field of Blood" was the Battle of Sarmada, which happened in the first Crusade, year 1098.
This battle is only named as "The Battle of Hattin". |

This is great!! I like the way my soldiers keep dying in the heat and by the time I complete it they are nearly dead but still knock out that camel army. I lost several times, mostly because I didn't keep an eye on my monk and some cav archers keep popping out and killing him. The last part( defending the church thing ) is a bit easy because the towers and castle have way too much attack, the enemy has no siege weapons except onagers which get knocked out in 2 shots, garrisoning archers in them makes them invincible. |

That scenario are impossible! We have not enuogh man, and they are injuried! I have been able to go to the King Guy camp just one time! And after, I can win the battle! (Other thing: I don't the camel charge sound.)[Edited on 01/02/11 @ 06:29 PM]

Really hard scenario! I just redownloaded it, I was disappointed that i had to wait 4 minutes before I could start playing this.
If you could skip the intro, to the action where you must bring the army with the bishop and relic, it would increase playability
I like how the armies harass and retreat when you pursue them. Good scripting, I did keep losing track of my army!
