This scenario is based on the song of Roland, a very popular medieval story. Take a role in the story by commanding the Frankish army and lead them into battle.
Play the scenario on normal speed so the music doesn't get mixed up.
Kill counter and different difficulties don't work yet.

Really nice but really short. Map design was good, nice triggerwork and the difficulty was well balanced. But it was a bit boring at my taste. |

What is required to win? I had well over 3000 kills but was defeated when Roland was killed, even though he had blown the horn to indicate the battle was lost ages ago. |

@Julius
The game is about keeping the enemy long at bay. When the frankish paladins + oliver are dead, the final scene is beginning. |

If you're looking for a survival game/defend the spot then this would probably be for you.
It might be more fun if something more had happened but the enemies don't really change making it get somewhat boring. The game last as long your men survive but if you want to skip to the end...there's the handy delete button =p
Nice work though! |

Thanks,
I know I should have put more of an effort into the battle but I lacked time. The purpose of the scenario is to keep Roland alive until all others have died. And I'm aware ppl can use the delete bug:D. |

Its impossible to keep roland alive until all others died, because when the enemy passed through your soldiers he only attacks roland, so roland always died first. Also i think the champion that appears when roland steps off his horse could be renamed |

You should form a box formation around your hero to protect him. It is possible to keep him alive but it's pretty difficult. It will be fixed in the next version. |

THis is a nice depiction of Roland's story. The map design and the gameplay is nice. I have a few suggestions though:
1) Why not make Roland playable during the battle? It might increase the playability. After all, this scenario is about him.
2) I think you should change the condition that leads to the final scene. First of all because of the cheat possibility, and second because it makes things too hard, especially since the player has no idea of what is required for victory and will try to keep the paladins alive for as long as possible, at the same time lowering his chances of victory. Why not set a kill counter, and when it is reached just kill off the paladins? To make it realistic you can kill them one by one, ending with Oliver. At this point the game would already be won by the player and you can set Roland to be a player allied to the moors to avoid him getting killed.
3) More updated instructions during the scenario would make a real difference.

good but not accurate. the battle of roncevaux pass was a battle between frankia and basque people. not moors |
