FEATURES:
• A sequel to Gwyndlegard!
• Not as epic and humongous as Gwyndlegard, but a lot better in many ways,
• Emphasis on the story, humour and gameplay: no data changes, mods or incredibly complex trigger tricks,
• Various gameplay styles, although focus will lie on Build & Destroy
• Many hours of gameplay
• 1186 triggers, if you want to know
• An overdose of weird Basse humour!
• Side quests that actually are worth completing.
STORY:
It's 1299, and little over a year has passed since the events from "Gwyndlegard". Xaphira is still stripped of all her magical powers and locked up in a top security prison, Tengil is still nowhere to be found and most people think he's dead, and Gwyndlegard is at peace. But while there is peace in the west, the situation in the east is not so calm.
At the start of the Xiochan invasion five years ago, the easternmost province of Gwyndlegard, Rockspring, declared independence after it's leader Lord Aerun refused to send his armies to Mezenghi's aid. Rockspring's armies should protect their own land, he said, not some faraway province that no one in Rockspring cared about. Mezenghi could do nothing as Xaphira's and Tengil's armies were flooding his western front.
But now, after the second war against Xaphira has ended, Mezenghi can finally turn his attention to the east. Suitably enough, the old King Aerun of Rockspring recently died and his much more agreeable son, Hanley, took the throne.
Mezenghi calls in one of his most loyal commanders, the recently knighted Immanuel, our hero from "Gwyndlegard", to join him on his journey to Rockspring, and to help him bring the region back under his rule.
But as it turns out, not everyone in Rockspring is keen on making Mezenghi their leader again. When nationalist revolutionaries seize the throne of Rockspring, Immanuel gets caught in the crossfire and ends up leading the fight against the revolutionaries.
Comments and reviews are most welcome!
After 125 downloads, updated to v1.1:
- Fixed a sound file that crashed the game for some players,
- Renamed the characters in the Palace cut-scene,
- Made the go-to area in Rockspring Castle for the "Defeat Lovewater" mission bigger,
- Made sure your units can't get trapped outside the castle after the prison scene,
- Made sure the Ghost Rider *always* stays invisible until he pops out,
- Fixed a spelling error.

Marvin and Rob doesn't count as Gwyndlegard 2 :P. It's a spinoff, and it takes place at the same time as Gwyndlegard (well some of it), and doesn't drive the overall story forward. ;) |

@Jatayu,
"There were some bugs like a bunch of bandits repeatedly popping up on the trade route between my town and green"
That's not a bug though, that's just a means of making trade a little harder way of getting gold. If you bring 10 or more men to the place where these ambushes spawn, they will stop. :)
"The only thing I'd criticize a little is the overuse of eyecandy elements, especially broken carts and ruins."
Ruins I understand, but broken carts? I seem to remember using them very sparingly, like maybe 3-4 of them on the entire map. Ah well. :P
"I never found a crazy archaeologist quest though it is mentioned in scouts."
If you go and talk to the monks by the Monastery in Lundersye, it will be set off.
"some elements of it don't really flow along such as Lovewater's magical powers and the Necronomicon which can raise the dead. ( 'It is magic' is not a good explanation )"
Fortunately the nature of magic in the gwyndlegard universe will be a little better explained in the next sequel. ;)
@G omega,
"The bad point is "the crucible". Beat Ralph is sooooo long! My city have been almost destroyed while I was forced to make sure that I survive to a figth whit a huge war elefant..."
Check the hints. They give away the key to defeating Ralph, i.e. tricking him to go near the berry bushes and stopping to eat them. ;)
"When I have read the description of the scenarion, I have see that I can wait for "An overdose of weird Basse humour!". Don't pay attention to it, it's a liar! Exept the side quest and some side detail (I still look for the plumed archer), we have an "underdose" of Basse's humour."
Well, most of the humour in Gwyndlegard came from side quests and locals talking, but the part which was hard to recreate here was the interaction between your main characters. But I also tried to make the villain a bit more interesting and developed and giving him some sort of motivation, which might've taken some humour away from it. Hopefully I can combine interesting villains and an abundance of weird humour better in the next sequel! ;)
Again, thanks for the reviews chaps! |

just 3 little comment after reading your react to my review:
-first: G Omega is my brother, but he is not me ;)
-Second: I know how to beat Ralph, and I did it, I was just saying that it's very long and I suggest a trigger that "pause" the main quest to avoid to be defeated by a side quest that you can't refuse if you have the bad idea to go look up to what it is...
-Third: can't wait for the next sequel :) |

@Jatayu, it said in your revew:
"The only thing I'd criticize a little is the overuse of eyecandy elements, especially broken carts and ruins."
Like Lord Basse tell you, there's not a lot of brokens carts. And ruins, too! There's only four ruins: one at Maxwell's monastery, one near the crucible, one near Lundersye and one where is hidden the necromention.[Edited on 10/05/11 @ 12:05 PM]

Just finished hard level of v1.1 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very clever indeed. Couple of questions however: never did find a berry bush near Rockspring. The one bush that I found had no affects. Also, what's the Relic of Souls about? I crashed through the bushes with the onager but it never came into play?
Thanks for the good work.
