Advanced Genie Editor
for Age of Empires, Rise of Rome (including DE), Age of Kings, The Conquerors (including DE), Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and Clone Campaigns.
This is a program for editing data of genie (DAT and DLL) files. It can edit properties of units, civilizations, technologies, graphics, terrains, sounds, player colors and some other things.
Please, ask questions on the forums.

Notes
Make your own backups or use the auto-backup feature!
Extract to anywhere and run. No help files are included.
You may need to run the program as administrator if your game is installed in a protected folder.
You may be able to undo changes by going back to the text box and pressing Ctrl + Z.
Tips
You can have multiple search entries separated with "|" letter.
Upper search boxes are inclusive and lower ones exclusive.
Example: "tower|ship|ram"
Use the check boxes to toggle matching between all and any entries.

Is import/export feature avaiable?
I used this function to make new units avaiable on both Aok and TC. I mean creating a unit in TC and export to Aok to use same id.
Also I'd like to disable CC units that would ruin SWGB scenarios without remake my campaigns on CC. |

You can set AGE to open two windows (files) simultaneously and then you can use normal copy and paste buttons to copy stuff across game versions.
Does the disable button fill your purposes? |

It works but I need to add lots of empty units to reach specified id.
Disable button works nice and fil my purposes but I suggest an "Add to specified id" button to fil non-existent ids with disabled units upon reaching specified id.
I have some more suggestions:
1-Allow to edit class attacks and saving for every game.
2-Check on open/save data file and open a popup if for example you open an aok data file as a aoe1 data file.
3-Maybe an option for Forgotten empires would be usefull. |

1. Do you mean the names of attack/armor classes?

I'll explain what I mean:
1-I realiced later that this option already exists because it's almost hidden. But I think it should save 3 lists (aoe+ror, aok+tc and swgb+cc) and make them editable
2-No. I mean it must prevent to open/save files as a wrong game version. If you do this accidentally, program stucks instead of telling you selected a wrong version.
3-I think you know there is an unoficial expansion for Aok called Forgotten empires. Check if it's units and techs uses same ids and if scenarios and campaigns are compatible whould be usefull. |

1. I think I'll make those 3 full lists editable.
2. Maybe later.
3. Forgotten empires is being made with this program...
I think you'll need 1.0c as it was with Advanced Genie Editor 1. (No idea really) |

Howdy!
Um...... I might be very noob, or maybe there is a problem with this, but here's the deal...
When I open AOC in Advanced Genie Editor 3 everything appears to be working fine, but there is nothing in the tab "Unitline" Is that how it's supposed to be?
I tried making a new infantry, and I got everything done, but he won't appear in the barracks, so I tried everything I could think of! :)
My last thought was that there was supposed to be something in "Unitline" to take care of before it would appear in the barracks.... :)
Is this correct?

Unitlines exist only in Star Wars DAT files. I have been too lazy to make that tab disappear for Age of Empires DAT files. You need to edit the game executable to change unit lines in Age of Empires games. They are used by the game AI.
As for making new units trainable, you either need a research-tech pair or set the unit to not need a research. |
