Advanced Genie Editor
for Age of Empires, Rise of Rome (including DE), Age of Kings, The Conquerors (including DE), Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and Clone Campaigns.
This is a program for editing data of genie (DAT and DLL) files. It can edit properties of units, civilizations, technologies, graphics, terrains, sounds, player colors and some other things.
Please, ask questions on the forums.

Notes
Make your own backups or use the auto-backup feature!
Extract to anywhere and run. No help files are included.
You may need to run the program as administrator if your game is installed in a protected folder.
You may be able to undo changes by going back to the text box and pressing Ctrl + Z.
Tips
You can have multiple search entries separated with "|" letter.
Upper search boxes are inclusive and lower ones exclusive.
Example: "tower|ship|ram"
Use the check boxes to toggle matching between all and any entries.

Hahaha yeah it was the button in game that fixed it, I was so caught up in editing that I just automatically assumed I deleted the unit commands |

So I notice when you create new units and put them in buildings the AI won't use them, I'm guessing because the AI isn't scripted to use them, know an easy way to get AI to use all the units besides overwriting current units with new units? |

I'm afraid you will have to overwrite units or create custom AI. The standard AI is so bad that you should consider using custom AI anyway. Then perhaps you can input your new units into the custom AI.

Yeah I use some of these custom AI right now, I just don't know if they will automatically use new units or if I have to add the new units into the AI script of these custom AI, which I've tried doing with a hex editor HxD hex editor I think and was pretty confused haha |

AI scripts are text files. You don't need hex editor to edit them. You need to add your new units into the AI scripts if you want the AIs to use them. Time to learn some AI scripting for you now. |

Haha alright well what file do I need to edit to add the units to the AI script? And is it as easy as resource hacker where you can just replace text with new text? |

It is easier than resource hacker. You browse the file from the downloaded zip and you will eventually find out. It will be hard to come up with how you edit the AIs, but if you really need it, you will learn. |

So it seems the unit Icons are dependent on the faction, so for example Icon 6 for faction 1 looks different than Icon 6 for faction 2, ... any way to get the Icon to carry over to a different faction? I would think this would be easy enough but I cant find any information on it. |

At the top of unit tab in AGE you can see "including graphics" or something like that. |

There is a glitch in ROR.
When I go into Tech. Trees and Unitlines it just comes up with a blank page.
I would really like to create a civilization but I can't.
Could you plz fix this? |
