Hi. You go to effects tab and search for "tech. tree". To enable fishing ships for Hittites, delete effect command 30 from effect 85. To enable those bowmen for Assyrians, delete effect commands 11 and 14 from effect 81. |

Thanks that worked!
So its just a matter of altering effect commands on effects eh?
Is there a list of all effects particularly all civilizations are what effects?
Also where do I find how to edit unit attributes? (for instance if i want scythe chariot to have 1 pierce armor or i want hero perseus to have range 10 instead of 9?)
Where do I edit a technologies effects? (for instance if want the shield technologies each to +1 pierce armor to cataphract?)
And finally, is there a way to make gaia a certain civilization (for architecture purposes) and to start at post iron age? |

razenbrenday,
Yes that can be done in units tab. Under the projectiles section there are total projectiles boxes. The projectiles have their own attack data that you may wish to edit as well.
volume, yes pretty much.
You should look around technology, effects, civilization and units tabs. You can add armors straight in units tab or through a technology. If you understand English then you will realize how to do that fast enough.
Gaia does have its own unit data, you could paste some other civ over it, but I highly do not recommend that as you can mess many units that are Gaia-only. |

thanks Keisari Tapsa.
i was asking is there like a guide to quickly identify what effect number or those without descriptions is what?
do i modify gaia under civilization? and how would i make it for example egyptian or roman architecture and how do i make gaia start at post iron age?
also if i want player 1 to be of red color and player 2 to be blue do i edit that in colors tab or elsewhere? there appeared to be 3 red colors (2, 8, and 9??)[Edited on 12/15/17 @ 02:16 AM]

volume, you can press the "Rename effects" button to get better names. You can edit Gaia on civilizations and units tabs. In units tab if you only need to change the graphics you can transfer them from another civilization by choosing the copied civilization from the drop down on top at left side. Then you select all units and press "S copy" without having "All civs" selected. Then you go to Gaia from the drop box at the top and use "S paste" to only paste the copied graphics. In civilization tab you may want to change the icon set too. But what is the point of changing Gaia in this way when you cannot have Gaia military and buildings in random map games anyway? In scenario editor you can edit Gaia. You can only change starting age of Gaia in scenarios.
For color changes you can try swapping the data around between the player colors in colors tab.
WarriorBurak, not sure what you are trying to achieve. Trailing unit will do nothing for houses unless you add movement speed for them. |

awesome. i didnt notice 'rename effects' - sorry im such a n00b lol. to make gaia post iron age, do you just simply change in civilization tab resource value of current age to 4 or something?
i think i got how you change the graphics and icons but is there a way you are supposed to select all units or do you have to manually select them all or use ctrl+shift+home/end?
you say you can change starting age of gaia in scenarios - what? where? in aoe/ror?
btw in units tab what does that automatically checkbox, copy button, including graphics to selected civilizations checkbox and that civilization Ga checkbox all the way to Ma checkbox do? (top middle horizontal) |

Hey Guys ! Thanks for the awesome software !I have a fews questions and bugs reviews. I am working on a mod for HD+riseofrajas edition. I'm trying to create a new civ with new units.
- How do you rename units ? I used the "resources\en\strings\key-value\key-value-strings-utf8.txt" to add new entries, but all I have in the end in game is "More dock item" instead of the actual name of the unit.
- How do you add a civ ? I've gone to the civilisation tab, select add civ. I rename etc, but when I use the mod in game, I can't choose the new civ.
- If I remove a civ, and I try to play a game with it, the civ actually shows up in the civ list. I can select it and run the game but the game ends up crashing.
- I know it's experimental, but "Write language File" makes the AGE2 crash when saving (I think).
- If you open the wrong file in compressed data set ", AGE2 crashes.[Edited on 01/07/18 @ 01:11 PM]

volume, no you go to ingame scenario editor, but not doable in aoe/ror.
You can select from the unit list same way as anywhere else on Windows.
The controls on top of unit tab are there because each civ has its own unit data.
elwiiithebig, look here to rename things:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1112216819
You probably cannot add new civs, because you cannot select it ingame without hacks.
Better not remove civs :D
Write language files is useless when you mod HD. |
