File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Mix
Number of scenarios: 3

The sequel to this game is out! Download The Successor - Act Two >>> HERE <<<

Ravenia is a land without a King, a land plagued by civil war and foreign invaders. And it has been like that for 15 years now, since the death of the old king, Navar the 3rd. Now, there is finally hope... The prophecy is about to be fulfilled. The Renegade Prince is returning home...

This is the first Act of "The Successor" trilogy, which you might be familiar with if you have played my previous cinematic scenario. If not, don't worry! Everything you need to know is right here, in this download, including a revamped version of the prologue cinematic!
This campaign contains two scenarios, the first is playable, while the second is 100% cutscene.

- An emphasis on the narrative aspect. If you've enjoyed the intense storytelling of campaigns such as Ulio, spiced up with a little bit of humor, you will probably not be disappointed.
- Two epic 15-minute-long cutscenes, at the beginning and the end of the game, as well as many other shorter ones during the game, that will drive the story forward.
- Gameplay diversity: Role-play, Fixed Force, Defend the Spot, even a little bit of Puzzle, plus a couple of suspenseful one-on-one duels. There should be something in here for every gamer out there, except for hardcore b&d-ers.
- Varied and detailed map design, a whole country with different landscapes, one major city and several towns and villages.
- An interesting cast of characters, including a protagonist who does not fit the "prince charming" cliche.
- An epic soundtrack to match the story. The main character even has his own theme song!
- A detailed .pdf guide, containing all you need to know about the game and its background.
- A total of around 800 triggers.

This game is best played on normal speed with a resolution of 1024X768 and music off. To install it, just place the .cpx file in the campaigns folder and the sound files in the sound/scenario folder.

I hope you will have fun with this game, and I urge you to comment, review and give your suggestions and feedback. I need all the feedback I can get if this is to become a trilogy ;)

All credits are in the beginning cutscene and in the .pdf guide. A particular thank you goes to my playtesters, Bf_Tanks, Dtrungle and Popeychops.

- fixed all detection area bugs that have escaped playtesting and have been brought to my attention after first upload;
- "relic doesn't show" bug from Teophil's quest fixed;
- turkey now always changes ownership to p1 after little girl quest;
- minor spelling mistakes fixed;
- "Super Tarran" bug which I believed to be fixed is still appearing sometimes. Will probably be fixed in a newer version.
- added one bonus non-playable map, as a teaser for the up-coming sequel!

Thank you to everybody who gave their feedback and contributed to identifying bugs.

thank you for letting me know and really sorry for it ruining your game. Yes, that must be the reason, since he left the trigger's detection area. I should've made sure the priest doesn't wander off healing random soldiers. This bug, along with the other ones people encountered, will be fixed in an update in a few days. I already fixed most of them, I will add this one to the list. Thanks again.
jfg1 Great game so far. I will let you know if this does not work. Thank you.
jfg1 Ok, ok, great game. I have reached an impasse however. I am playing in Hard mode and I have successfully killed all of the Tugai Tribe. I have a small band of men remaining, perhaps about 28, all in good health. Krall took care of the General.
Krall took the berries to the Doctor and then returned to the cave entrance by the blue flag.
I sent one of my Eagle warriors in to scout and he was promptly annihilated. I then sent my man, Krall in and he too was wiped out. Oh for a siege onager or two to flatten those little turds. I then remembered that a villager told me about a Castle on the south tip of the map.
My triumvirate inspected every square inch of the surrounding woods to gain entrance to no avail. I cannot find a way into the area. I know that there must be something useful there to help slay the little turds and the rest of the bad guys.
I am stuck for now. A little tiny hint would be welcome.

just kill them with your archers. there's only 4 of them or something. they're only dangerous if you allow them to get near you, as they have little hit points.

there is not complicated way around it, just kill them :) don't worry even if you lose some troops, you will get some more afterwards.

try to get further, the finale is worth it, or so i was told by some people :)
jfg1 Really enjoyed the Act One and sorry it ended.2 questions: I could never find a way through the woods into the Castle at the South tip of the map.Also the seige ram and man at arms at the north tip never came into play.

To answer your questions:
In question 1 I assume you're talking about Gyan castle? If so, there is no way to get there through the forest. And about question 2, the ram and the man-at-arms are not supposed to come into play, they are only there to help me with the in-game "special effects", such as the cutscene in the beginning.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for the sequel, though it might take some time :)

hello Josh, thanks for downloading my game. The pdf is not required for running the game, it's there only for you to read and get info about the game's backstory, characters, etc.
JoshLands Hey thanks a lot, I Have not finished playing this game yet, but it is pretty detailed. It must have taken you a long time to make.

Also, Could you give me a bit more advice? Im trying to make my own campaign/ scenario; But I run into a problem. Every time my scenario map has too many buildings or recources or triggers, the game will freeze, turn to black, and AOE will stop running. Im pretty sure its just loaded with too much information, but After seeing your map, I know that there is a way to fix this problem.

I also want to record my own voice-over for the scenarios and put my voice in, Just like you see in the AOE campaigns when you complete a trigger, for example, you will hear Alfonso speak or Attila or some other character. Is there a way to put my own voice acting?

hello again. Glad you're enjoying the campaign. I'm not sure there is any solution to that problem of yours except removing some units from the map, and if you need more add them using triggers during the game. I've never run into more than a little lag myself.

You can record your voice via microphone as a wav or mp3 and use it in your campaign, using triggers also.

However, this is not the right place to discuss these matters. Please visit the forums. There you will find a very complete scenario design FAQ, and some nice chaps (including yours truly) who will answer all of your questions.
