The city of Malvan sprawls along the coast, from mountain to marsh and from the placid waters of Lake Pevensey to the bustle of the Haymarket. Out to sea the sun glitters on the mysterious ruins of Cragtooth Island, and closer to home diggers churn up the streets in search of treasures. The great and the good inhabit spacious buildings near the lake or the abbey while the poorer residents throng through slums and courtyards in the heart of the city.

Should anyone like to borrow any aspect of this file and use it in their own work, they are entirely free to do so. The same goes if anyone would like to use the map as a whole as a template.
How did you get it so that the Town Centers either ha the buildings or the shells?

Malvan is Julius999's entry to the 2011 Pretty Town Contest. The scenario performed well in the contest coming runner up in second place.
Rating: 4.0
Despite receiving critical acclaim from the judges of the contest, I can't help but feel that this is one of Julius' weakest Showcase scenarios. By no means is this a bad showcase at all. In fact it is still high above most of the showcase scenarios you will find here in the Blacksmith.
Malvan is a large coastal city which shows off Julius' signature design style. Julius makes use of the Map Copy tool effectively to create many unique and beautiful new buildings and streets. The layout of the city is well thought through and and there is clear intention with every object placement. Highlights of the map include the small swamp area, the island offshore with the Ruined Temple and he wooded area by the Keeming Church. You can also find Julius' favourite habit of using different sections of the Town Centre to create new building styles and adding much more variety to map. Unfortunately I find a couple of areas in this map that are in need of more work and don't look anywhere as good as you would expect from this author. The map is quite bland in many areas, particular due to the use of large sheets of Dirt 1 which aren't mixed with any other terrains. There is also a severe lack of elevation which makes the city too completely flat. For the most part the scenario looks rushed and incomplete in areas. There is some atmosphere in the town with civilians and units scattered around but not much interactivity as on the most part they are static.
Additional Comments:
Overall this is a very good showcase scenario and shows off an excellent creation of a town, yet comes off as slightly unpolished in comparison to other scenarios from this author.
