peripatetic It plays a bit too much like a random map. I did like what you were trying to do with the historical info, but I wasn't able to understand the setting or exactly what the background of the conflict was supposed to be. The instructions and back story were verbose and unclear.

As for the game play itself, like I said, it was a random map. The instructions hinted that the relics were important. When I grabbed them all, nothing happened, and I was disappointed. It ended up just being a normal conquest game.

Beforehand, I was completely unfamiliar with the Oero Linda Book. This scenario did introduce me to it; but I didn't really understand what it was about until I Wikipedia'd it after I finished playing.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, it is a random map: Giant, Continental, 8 play, seed 28624. Only adding some ice and player changes. The Oera Linda Book is really not recommended reading, but some excerpts were added for "color" and these are probably the verbose and unclear statements. Well, they are the same with me, and likewise that book was unfamiliar with me until recently.
Regarding the map, you must disregard the Baltic Sea, Asia, the scale, etc., but I was surprised how in general respects the relative locations fit. Gotland is an island in the Baltic where tradition has it the place of the Goths. Not stated in the scenario, left clicking on the fence during play gives information from Cassiodorus thru Jordanes about the Goths. You would surely loose the game to read all comments posted.
Thanks again for your comment. Anyone not interested with history may use the above info for this map selecting the relic win.

Relic win no longer applies with update. Changes should place this scenario better under the single player group since player 1 will now have a greater advantage. Game works only in NORMAL mode. It's an exploration win with an optional puzzle win.
