In the zipfile you'll find two wonders and their shadows in bmp format. One of them is the Doge's palace in Venice and is based on a 3D model, the second one is the San Lorenzo Cathedral in Genoa which I based on Kor's version of the building.
These two Italian wonders will be very familiar these days due to their inclusion as the wonder for the Italian civ in Age of Empires HD: The Forgotten, yet they were designed a couple of years before the release of the official expansion by Den Cekke, also known as Jan dc.
Usefulness/Novelty: 4.5
These two buildings are historical models of two famous Italian buildings; The Doge Palace and San Lorenzo Cathedral. The buildings fit perfectly into the game, blending well with other graphics and are historically accurate models of buildings which were build during the correct time period of the games setting. These are two buildings that have not been made before and therefore are unique. Today however, with their inclusion in the official expansions, it does make this individual mod pack less useful as most players already have access to these graphics in the game already. The could be useful for somebody who still plays the CD/UP version of the game but they would have to turn the BMPs into SLPs and add the to the game themselves first.
Quality/Instructions: 5
Being included in the official expansion to the game shows off just how great these buildings are. Both of these buildings are exceptionally designed in Photoshop using copy-and-paste and recolouring techniques to create some brand new buildings that perfectly blend into the game around other graphics. The design is very detailed with smooth modelling and blending of all the different elements. Included with the graphics are separate shadows as well to add extra realism into the buildings.
Additional Comments:
Overall these two buildings are beautifully crafted. If you're a CD/UP player I would definitely take the time to check them out and if you play later versions of the game, at least you can now appreciate where they came from and give credit to the original author.
