The idea of this map is to divide the entire playable area in 2 different adjacent terrains with different characteristics, each one covering the 50% of the map:
- a desert area with few wood and food but much gold and stone.
- a grass area with much wood and food but few gold and stone.
There are 3 different kinds of terrains shapes:
- grass is at a side, desert at the other side or
- grass occupe a big corner of the map or
- grass is a big strip from side to side closed (like a sandwitch ^^) by 2 desert strips
Placing the main TC on the one or on the other terrain will involve faster or slower feudal/castle times and armies based on much or few gold. Placing the main TC in the forest (grass terrain) will give a fast start and eventually a easy walling but will require to exploit or colonize (camps or TCs) also desert areas before or after. Placing the main TC on the desert area will give lot of gold and stone by the beginning, but the desert area is more open to enemy rushes and foof/wood will end pretty soon.
Eventually, the best main TC position may be the borders between grass and desert. This will give easy access to all the resouces needed.
Resources are dropped scaling them by map size and not by number of players. So if you play a normal-sized maps you will get resources for 6 players in a 6 players game, but also if you play there a 2 players game or a 8 players game. Giant maps will give resources for 10 players
This map is both standard game compatible and UserPatch compatible. With UserPatch installed, players will start like in regular nomad map, with the resources needed to build the main TC over the standard resources.
With UserPatch installed, more or less all AIs that are able to play regular nomad are able to play this map. Without it, fewer AIs are able to play the map: i know for sure that at least 3 AIs are able to play landnomad style maps (building the lumber camp, getting the needed 275 wood, buildnig the main TC etc): IS_Machine (this is my AI so i give it for first :D ), The Horde, Barbarian
Sounds like a good concept. I'll check it out and post my opinion later.

That rms is really great. I had a lot of fun in a 1v1 on a giant map, the resources being scaled by map size is something all maps should have. And it is also fun the other way round, like 4 players fighting over the resources of 2.
