Bridge Fights is just that -- bridge fights. The idea is, you start off on a tiny 15x15 island, with your enemies on other islands connecting to one-another by bridges. It has four scenarios, all of which are the same. You are provided with an infinate stockpile of resources, a pile of military buildings, and you must kill all other players. That's about all there is too it, no triggers, no objectives, no storyline. Needless to say, it isn't Best of AoK material. Your enemies (there are four) are all controlled by the computer, and make very silly mistakes, like sending villagers over into your base to forward build, only to get destroyed by your bombard towers. The concept was good, but it needs a lot of effort for it to be more acceptable. Since the levels are all basically just the same, there isn't any variety. -2
I was able to beat this campaign in 15 minutes. All of your enemies have equal starts, but it is only challenging if you play it on hard. If you play on easy or moderate, the computers generally resign a few minutes into the game. On hard, they train units, and simply stream them into your base (provided they arn't fighting amongst themselves). Some custom AI scripts would really do wonders. 3
The idea was pretty original -- I've never seen anything quite like it. It plays just like a B&D, but having to fight from tiny islands across bridges hasn't ever been done before, to my knowledge. However, I must protest against having four scenarios that are just copies of one another. -4
The map design of Bridge Fights is practically nonexistant. Basically, it's just a plain water map with square islands for the players pasted on in grass1. The bridge placement was a bit awkward, with sharp edges and innacurate placement making it look very unauthentic. +1
There is no story whatsoever, and there only one line of text in the whole campaign. "This is the last scenario! Enjoy!" There isn't much to review. 1
No real effort went into this campaign, it is evident on every aspect of it. I think it would have been better suited as a Multiplayer Map then a campaign.
