I did not find this file to be "extremely enjoyable" as the author had predicted. In fact, quite the opposite was the case. Both players start out with a fairly large force and a largely impregnable base consisting of a pyramid and literally dozens of bombard towers. In the end it was pretty tiring to cut all the wood necessary for the required trebuchets.
Both players start out with the same large stacks of units. The instructions stated that the player should use its high starting resources, however, it is my opinion that these were in fact quite low and only useful for creating a town center which could then be used to build additional villagers (as the one starting villager was just not enough).
The map had some creative aspects, but in general I found it a bit dull. Two large forces facing off against each other on a map which was just a plain desert just does not warrant a high rating. I would have given this a 1 if not for the river in the middle of the map. There was one trigger in the game, but I believe this to be an accident as it had no conditions or effects.
Map Design: 2
As mentioned before, the map severely lacks detail and seems quite monotonous. The river dividing the two players is far from perfect, but shows IMO that the author could do a lot better than plain desert with no elevation.
The author included some basic instructions. I do not think such a simple fight to the death needs anything more elaborate.
This file shows some potential, however I do not recommend downloading it in its current state.
