WHITE LIGHT on the BLACK SKY
On the eve of a clash between the armies of the city of Freose, led by Lord Josef II, and Hanaket, led by Lord Karlek, a storm raged through the heavens. This was amazing dude! Stunning! Maybe not that action packed, but a very great design and very creative, as well as a great atmosphere. Well done! |

Thanks for the review, Panel! I agree with most of what you pointed out, though that jazz track you mentioned always seemed a bit uneasy to me, not so upbeat. I see where you're coming from though.
I was also never fully satisfied with the ending I came up with. And while I agree with you that Jack is definitely an asshole, I think it's because he is not a hero in any way, shape, or form that I found him interesting (to write about, at least; he's probably more irritating to someone just watching the end result). |

I think that's what makes the Jack character more human, and more interesting to watch. Just by watching the cinematic, it's as if I can feel his overwhelming fear for his life. Very realistic.
Not every single main character in a story has to be a valiant hero in any way.
I agree about the music though, such jazzy tunes would be more suitable in modern, "noir" stories.[Edited on 02/21/13 @ 11:18 PM]

That was definitely what I was going for, and I'm glad you thought it was effective. Making Jack human was my primary goal when I was writing this, and I think I succeeded to a certain extent, even if he did turn out to be a real coward (among other things).
As for the music... my only excuse is that I like jazz :P. I may have indulged myself a little too much when picking the music. |

Well, the music was pretty much perfect, there was only that one jazzy track at the first scene at the camp (when they see the light in the forest). I think a more mysterious and dark piece would have fit for that, when you see those strange lights moving through the forest... |
