"Micheotax" is a jungle themed map created for the 2013PTC. I found the map to be an enjoyable experience with a goodly amount of terrain detailing throughout, as the player explored the map and found nearly every character had full written dialogue. I would have found this even more impressive if the dialogue was a bit more serious throughout, though there were good scenes depicting the the sacrifice of a princess for example with suitable dialogue in that situation. The metropolis was fairly sprawling and pleasant to explore with a good variety of locations that you would expect as would be necessary for such a city. The roads and paths were of a suitable nature and the terrain mixing on the whole was carried off well. Some room for improvement is certainly available along coastlines and swampy areas, as these a fairly nondescript. A lack of elevation changes was felt, as the map conveyed a largely flat look.
Although the map was exceptionally well detailed in terms of quantity, and was sufficiently eye pleasing for the exploration to be enjoyable, there is an argument to be made for a certain amount of subtlety in the deployment of gaia objects. This map is a veritable sea of rocks, bushes, sea rocks, flower patches, and many trees types jammed together tightly to form a carpet. Older maps like Nyctophobia or recent maps like "In the Name of the Serpent"(HD Edition on steam) can carry the jungle look very well even with fewer gaia objects and may be worth examining for ideas. In addition to the many gaia objects is the small issue of stone and forage bushes creating white outlines;this can be resolved by adding food\wood\stone piles to the editor using geniedit, but as it stands they slightly detract from the look of the map.
In summary i enjoyed Micheotax and find it to be a solid attempt overall
