The Fighting Molehill
a Defend-the-Spot scenario by Shieldwolf23
**********
It is 1566, and you are Count Nikola, a Croatian nobleman in charge of defending the fortress city of Szigetvar. The Turks are your enemies, and they have overwhelming numbers. While you do believe in miracles, you prefer to defend the fortress and its inhabitants rather than surrender.
You can only delay the inevitable, but by God, let them pay dearly for your death!
**********
The object of the game is to stay alive as long as possible. There are 5 achievements you can unlock, depending on how long you can survive the Turkish onslaught. Various difficulty levels are supported.
***********
Designer's Note:
I have playtested the game a couple of times, and ENOTH's outstanding AI made almost all of my games varied. In both Standard and Moderate games, I've unlocked the maximum achievement; on Hard mode, well, I barely made it past the second to the last. Hope you guys fare better than me!

Playability: 2
I've subtracted points in this section due to the fact that most of the scene takes place in a succession of bugs, especially in the beginning when the game is somewhat cut, which makes the gameplay. In such case a game update that improves this aspect'll change my rating.
Balance: 4
The balance does not have much to complain about, the enemy has hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and a few, but with great defenses and the ability to create more soldiers, the only thing I did not like was the population restriction and prohibition to create more homes, it's much more difficult matter.
Creativity: 4
Creativity, good, you can not put all 5 points, since it is a scenario Historico not very abundant personal touches on the history, and the defense of the city is pretty basic, does not have many creative touches :p
Map Design: 5
Good design, the bridge between the two halves of the fortress, is well done, the landscape is identical to that area of Europe. The only deplorable is the design of the Turkish camp, I think something basic
Story/Instructions: 3
Another negative point. Most do not give advice on how to win the stage, some you will seem them giving much advice, the mystery is lost on stage, but I think it is vital for Noobs and for those who seek the best use of the stage.
Additional Comments:
A good scenario, undoubtedly one of the favorites to win the DTS'13, with historical touch that always characterize of a Swieldwolf, as we saw in his first hit "The swadows of Betrayal", hope to see more projects within Swieldwolf a while ;). |
