This is the sequel to Gwyndlegard, its bastard child/spin-off The Epic Adventures of Marvin & Rob, and The Rockspring Revolution. If you haven't played either of them, you might still enjoy this campaign, but the story will make more sense if you play them in the right order!
FEATURES:
• A 7 scenarios long campaign!
• Various gameplay styles: pure B&D, Fixed Force, one-on-one boss fights and stealth missions.
• Extensive modding: around 400 new units (soldiers, buildings, eye-candy and other stuff) made uniquely for this campaign.
• An epic in the literal sense of the word - quite likely bigger in gameplay hours than "Gwyndlegard" and "The Rockspring Revolution" combined!
• Emphasis, as usual, on the storyline, humour and atmosphere, although I try to spruce it up with new ideas for gameplay as well!
• A vastly expanded Gwyndlegard universe,
• Music from a wide range of composers, including Ramin Djawadi, Howard Shore, Russell Shaw and Kevin MacLeod.
• A grand conclusion to the Gwyndlegard trilogy!
• Insivible flying bananas!
STORY:
This campaign starts right where The Rockspring Revolution left off. Our hero Immanuel returns to his home province of Gwynhill, and his soon-to-be-wife Emily. Immanuel longs for peace and quiet, and the opportunity to finally marry his beloved girlfriend, and for a short while it looks as if his dreams will come true. But a campaign isn't very interesting if it's all peaceful and quiet, is it?
Out in the ocean, at a top-security prison, five iron-clad, monstrous ships show up at the horizon. They blast a hole in the wall of the prison, and its most dangerous prisoner escapes. Xaphira, the former Queen of Xioché, is on the loose.
The news travel swiftly to Gwynhill, and the local priest and recovering alcoholic Father Garnas is very troubled by it. For the past two years he has been studying an artifact that was used in the war against Xaphira (as seen in "Gwyndlegard"), The Relic of the Rock, and he has made some astonishing discoveries. He believes that it is one of the four Relics of Athalën, immensely powerful artifacts created by the ancient king Athalën, the man who founded and ruled the Old Kingdom for a thousand years. Father Garnas fears that Xaphira knows of the relic, and that she is coming to Gwynhill to get it. He thinks that she too knows of the power of the four relics: that with them you can shape the world completely as you wish to see it, and possibly live forever. And indeed he is right, and Xaphira comes as a thief in the night and snatches The Relic of the Rock away.
It is now up to you, as Immanuel, to make sure Xaphira doesn't get her hands on all four of the relics.

Yes you can! For this you will need the AoE2HD Compatibility Patch, which you can download here. More information on how to install this for HD is included in the download.

They pretty much ignore all the crashes I think.. It surely deserves its rating but the crashes really should be considered and not just ignored as if they aren't there. I dunno it's a great campaign but I'm gonna have to replay through all of it (if/when he makes a stable version that works on AOE2HD). I couldn't finish most of them due to annoying puzzles that end the game at least half way through, and there is sometimes a lot of stuff that can be missed if you just skip. Restarting every time is just retarded if you might fail like 4-5 times at one part. I am a chronic saver as well. I've given up trying to fully complete this a long time ago : / |

Jurugi, almost all of the crashes that people currently experience occur because of the unstable nature of mods in the game. I spent many long days ironing out all the crashes I had any control over before releasing the campaign, and when playing it with the 1.0c patch as intended, I at least am only getting one crash, the one at the end of the first scenario, which has turned out to be impossble to get rid of without removing the mod altogether.
From what I've been able to tell, the crashes that occur in scenario 3, 6 and 7 when you play using AoKHD are due to the HD version not handling edited data files very well.
Releasing an unmodded version of the campaign is, I'm afraid, pretty much unthinkable, as the mod is just as important to the campaign as the map design. Ironing out everything the mod does would basically mean redesigning the entire campaign, a huge endeavour I have no intention of taking on.
I've provided all the instructions I can to make sure people play it the same way I do, to minimize any crashing, and I've removed the crashes I could trace back to my own doing and not the instability of the game itself. It's a shame, but there's really not much I can do about the crashes. :( |

I know it all been said over and over, but this is probably THE best campaign on the forum, and I can't really imagine colossal amount of work that's been put into it, so... Two thumbs up!
But... (yes, here it is) I'm having a bug problem with scenario (6, I think) on the island of Kalpireia. Whenever I try to go past first Xaphira's patrol, near the pond with two rugs beside, the game crashes. I've followed instructions with install, checked the patch version, changed resolution, speed, all the ordinary stuff, but nothing seems to work. And so far I've enjoyed myself immensly, so I'd really like to finish the game.
Any idea what the problem could be? |

Never mind the post above, I got past the bug.
Really trivial stuff, this... Instead of my heroes, I've sent a knight to trigger the next scene. :P[Edited on 08/16/14 @ 05:44 PM]

I am not the first one to tell you but this campaign is absolutely amazing Lord Basse, for sure the greatest campaign I've ever played ! Still I experienced two crashes when I came back to main menu after finishing the two first scenarios, but is a so small detail compaired to the excitement of enjoying this campaign.
PS : Guarana is the best thing ever :D |
