This is the sequel to Gwyndlegard, its bastard child/spin-off The Epic Adventures of Marvin & Rob, and The Rockspring Revolution. If you haven't played either of them, you might still enjoy this campaign, but the story will make more sense if you play them in the right order!
FEATURES:
• A 7 scenarios long campaign!
• Various gameplay styles: pure B&D, Fixed Force, one-on-one boss fights and stealth missions.
• Extensive modding: around 400 new units (soldiers, buildings, eye-candy and other stuff) made uniquely for this campaign.
• An epic in the literal sense of the word - quite likely bigger in gameplay hours than "Gwyndlegard" and "The Rockspring Revolution" combined!
• Emphasis, as usual, on the storyline, humour and atmosphere, although I try to spruce it up with new ideas for gameplay as well!
• A vastly expanded Gwyndlegard universe,
• Music from a wide range of composers, including Ramin Djawadi, Howard Shore, Russell Shaw and Kevin MacLeod.
• A grand conclusion to the Gwyndlegard trilogy!
• Insivible flying bananas!
STORY:
This campaign starts right where The Rockspring Revolution left off. Our hero Immanuel returns to his home province of Gwynhill, and his soon-to-be-wife Emily. Immanuel longs for peace and quiet, and the opportunity to finally marry his beloved girlfriend, and for a short while it looks as if his dreams will come true. But a campaign isn't very interesting if it's all peaceful and quiet, is it?
Out in the ocean, at a top-security prison, five iron-clad, monstrous ships show up at the horizon. They blast a hole in the wall of the prison, and its most dangerous prisoner escapes. Xaphira, the former Queen of Xioché, is on the loose.
The news travel swiftly to Gwynhill, and the local priest and recovering alcoholic Father Garnas is very troubled by it. For the past two years he has been studying an artifact that was used in the war against Xaphira (as seen in "Gwyndlegard"), The Relic of the Rock, and he has made some astonishing discoveries. He believes that it is one of the four Relics of Athalën, immensely powerful artifacts created by the ancient king Athalën, the man who founded and ruled the Old Kingdom for a thousand years. Father Garnas fears that Xaphira knows of the relic, and that she is coming to Gwynhill to get it. He thinks that she too knows of the power of the four relics: that with them you can shape the world completely as you wish to see it, and possibly live forever. And indeed he is right, and Xaphira comes as a thief in the night and snatches The Relic of the Rock away.
It is now up to you, as Immanuel, to make sure Xaphira doesn't get her hands on all four of the relics.

CAN I PLAY THIS WITH THE HD/2013 EDITION?
Yes you can! For this you will need the AoE2HD Compatibility Patch, which you can download here. More information on how to install this for HD is included in the download.

It seems as though the HD edition has changed the layout of everything in the past few years. language_x1.dll doesn't appear to exist any more, and neither does gamedata_x1_p1.drs. All of the game data folders have also been moved around. Is there anything I can do to install this on the modern HD edition? Or will I have to use an old install of AoK? |

@Lord Basse At first great thanks for all the work - everything is just awesome!
I also have a problem with this campaign - it crashes in the 1st scenario right after the story of Athalen(or so I think), the one where 4 relics are in the center of black screen. Any ideas how this could be fixed ? Can it be because of lower resolution(1024x768) than recommended(1280x1024 60Hz on old crt monitor is blinding me...) ?[Edited on 10/26/16 @ 06:20 PM]

Thanks Arkwyz! Hm, that's a crash I don't recall hearing of before. I'm not sure what could be causing it, except perhaps that you might be playing on an old computer? In any case, if you can't get it to work, you could watch the first scenario on YouTube where I've uploaded it (link below), and then skip to scenario 2 by typing in "i r winner".

@Lord Basse Thanks for quick reply - I wasn't expecting it to be that fast to be honest.
I spent couple of hours trying to make it work, dreading the thought of losing important parts of story, and game, but since there is video(thanks for that too) I guess I'll settle for "i r winner" and start from 2nd scenario, hoping I won't encounter anything else that is gamebreaking on my rig :)
And yes...I do play it on quite old by todays standards PC(Sempron 3000+, Radeon 9600, win98/xp), which should be more than enough for it, but who knows. I'm out of ideas, so that may be it...
Out of curiosity I'll maybe check it also on even older rig(Pentium II), when I get it working at last.[Edited on 10/27/16 @ 08:05 AM]

Hi,
I have a problem with mod. After installing, reading through history/hints and pressing play loading starts, then returns me to history/hints. I tried everything previously said on forums, from deleting data files to running as administrator. Gwyndlegard, adventures of M&R and Rockspring works perfectly. I have also played 15+ other mods without problem. Also I tried installing on HD version and normal Conquerors WITH 1.0c. On HD it returns me to previous screen, on vanilla game just crashes.
If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated. |

Lord Basse,
This is the best scenario I have ever played:
I am incredibly bad at playing AOK, but this scenario was just right in terms of play-ability. Till now I simply built an army, and then set them loose on the AI. Your scenario allowed me to re-discover the strategy component of the game!
I was just wondering:
How do you get past Immanuel's demon fight in Last Stand of the Goddess? After finding the key, I am unable to use height advantage or hit and run tactics.
Thank you,
Akhil |
