"Maxime - Mercenaries of Loren" is a single player scenario and fixed force game by "MaximePhilippe". This is a game which is very simple and short. The story is about a mercenary who wants to clear all of the trade roadways from dangerous bandit groups to get some gold from the people and to protect markets and living areas.
Unfortunately this game is too simple. So I can give this game only 2 points. First of all this game is too short. I finished this game in 5-10 minutes only. Second, the game is too simple or not complex. This means the subject of the story and gameplay is too basic. We don't do many things in the game. After killing a few weak bandit groups ( if we compare them with our group... ) by walking for a short distance and a few simple talkings this game finishes. There aren't any puzzles, creative events, dangerous battles and interesting events in this game. The thing which was done by players is only killing a few weak bandit groups by walking for a short distance. In addition the game has bug mistakes. When you write the marco polo cheat "object visible" triggers become active.
The game is extremely easy! Because bandit groups are very weaker than our group. The game never requires micro management skills. Players never encounter with real challenges in this game. Everytime our group has stronger units and more numbers than bandit groups.
The subject of the game is a little creative. ( The person who had lost his father and after that who has struggled for a long time to get a military group, an armor and a weapon to be mercenary... ) But the gameplay never features creative things. So I can give only 2 points for creativity.
MAP DESIGN: 2
The map design is not good. The map has very fewer terrain types. The terrain mixing is very restricted in this map. There are 2 types of roads ("road 1" and "dirt" roads...) in this map. These roads were surrounded with oak forests, rocks, flowers and deers. There are all of terrains only which were used in this map. The map doesn't look realistic. Players can understand that the map was designed to make up the map for the game instead of trying to make the map realistic. By the way there are some buildings and living areas in this map. Their designing is average. ( This means not bad and not good... )
The instructions and hints part of this game is really good and enough for the players. Players will encounter with new objectives after finishing the previous objective in objectives part. This means the author knows displaying objectives. So there aren't any problems in instructions part. But the story part is not good. Because the game has very fewer dialogues and the story is too simple. ( after starting to play the game... ) Because the story doesn't have any interesting features, complex features, mysterious features, creative features and fastmoving features. The story is too short and the story only gives players directions. In addition I caught a grammar mistake: "I can do anything." in dialogues.
I don't recommend people downloading this file. Because the game is too simple and too short. The author "has to" develop himself or herself by examing better rated files.
