THIS SCENARIO REQUIRES AGE OF CHIVALRY:HEGEMONY MOD.


This isn't a playable scenario,just look around.I know if I get reviews they will give 0 in every area maybe except eye-candy,but this scenario really doesn't have any playability.


There is a siege at the beginning.


Write "marco" and then "polo" to see the whole map. (For those who don't remember or know cheats.)

"Saxon Siege" depicts an unnamed siege in the many and endless wars between the french and german sphere. Unfortunately there is not a single word typed anywhere in this scenario to explain the history or setting;this would have helped to create more atmosphere and give perspective to events.

What the map does well is its base terrain with forests;the world is well decorated as its spaced apart trees are given grasses, various bushes, reeds alongside the waterways, and various little details. The paths are fairly simple but effective. The village is fairly decent with its composite mill+house structure, though at first sight the mill seems to be floating there. The two castles are fairly nondescript with little to differentiate them from countless others. The use of triggers to break holes in the walls is fairly mysterious;i would recommend setting up triggers to damage wide sections of the wall to varying degrees, so it has a degraded and broken down look. The military camp is decent looking but could use some expansion upon;the one near the trebuchets needs to be expanded upon quite a bit. The trebs themselves could benefit from being placed into some kind of emplacement\battlements in which soldiers can work, rather than being placed in the open. The left most castle looks like it should be guarding a river crossing such as a bridge, but there is nothing there. The lack of elevation anywhere on the map is also a missing opportunity, some good usage of hills and depressions can breath life into the world.

In summary, "Saxon Siege" represents a simple starting effort, and with some more improvements could potentially be quite nice.
