Soon I will be making another campaign about the Romans which I will upload shortly.

russian revolution by darthslayer2004 is a campaign depicting the Revolution of 1917 in which the Bolsheviks overthrew Tsar Nicholas II. In most of the scenarios, Lenin in the form of a conquistador leads a battalion of Janissaries and hand cannoneers against the Tsarist forces of Teutonic Knights, Conquistadors, and other units.

PLAYABILITY: I admit that I did have some fun with this campaign. The first scenario was a bit of a let down, as most of it consists of wandering through fields and picking off lone enemies, but the ending took me off guard. The second scenario is perhaps the best, in it you wage war through the streets of Moscow, picking up allied reinforcements throughout the city. The 3d scenario has the player maneuvering through the hallways of the Kremlin, with an excessive force of hand cannoneers, Janissaries, with Lenin. The fourth, and final, scenario has the player walking to the Tsar's home in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, St. Petersburg consists of only a few guards, a cathedral, and a castle. Also, there are two bugs: The player owns the Tsar Nicholas unit garrisoned in the castle, allowing the player to ungarrison the Tsar, who is instantly killed by arrow fire, and the Kulaks don't join you when you bring Lenin to their village.

BALANCE: Ranges from easy to impossible. Mostly the campaign is easy, but the "Going to the Kremlin" is nearly impossible. The player has to get through two layers of walls while under attack by battalions of cannons, conquistadors, hand cannoneers, and cataphracts. The other scenarios mostly throw small bands of soldiers at the player's massive squadron of hand cannoneers. Add more enemies to make it harder.

CREATIVITY: The few creative elements in this campaign are urban warfare, potential allies, and fighting inside the Kremlin. The design of the "Going to the Kremlin" mission is somewhat interestingly, but that is the extent of this campaign's creativity.

MAP DESIGN: The map design is poor. Moscow doesn't look crowded enough. The first map has great areas of ice surrounding islands of snowy grass. Most maps consist of solid blocks of terrain, occasionally mixed in with other terrains. Every corner of the map should be filled in with nice looking objects. Download eye-candy utilities to get ideas for nice-looking objects.

STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: The campaign follows the events of the Russian Revolution of 1917. Add more information about the revolution, such as historical events, short biographies of important people, such as Lenin, and other relevant information.
