Toulon is Yinyueqishi's entry to the 2015 Pretty Town Contest.
Authenticity: The author used a creative style of map design with apt use of several objects (projectiles and overlapping stumps, for example) to pull off some nice tricks. The design was overall quite good, although it suffered from some flaws in the atmosphere and the overall difficulty that one might have in representing a city centuries after the timeframe of AoE2.
Creativity: This was by far the most impressive part of the map, as the author used a design style and many tricks that I had never seen before. This style of mapmaking has probably never been seen outside of the HawkAoC community, but it suited the scenario quite well. I was especially impressed by the use of several closely stacked bridge pieces to make a staircase.
Layout: Although the design was overall quite good, many building combinations could have been executed more smoothly and the terrain mixing could have used some work. Many spots were a little too cramped and at times my unit got stuck in off-grid objects, causing me to have to restart the scenario.
Technical skill: The triggering and use of sounds was solid, but the scenario suffered from numerous spelling errors that brought the score down a bit.
