I had a simple idea that most of the maps didn't have enough relics, and also that often enough, people get sick of the standard 3 villager start.
So I've decided to make a mediocre branch by giving a quicker start to the game. In addition, by giving a starting tower, players are now able to build another tower starting in Dark Age. This gives a counter to quick archer or tower rushes which were heavily prone to occur before. Still, you can win with these, but most players will stand a better chance of winning.
Having 10 Relics, again, I decided simply because 1v1s end in trash wars. Also, where games get drawn out in failed Castle Rushes, extra relics help make the game bearable.
Fortress is the only map which I have particularly enhanced to be something special. It is no longer a simple Fortress. You Command a City-State, with 45 Villagers, 3 Town Centers, 1 Castle, a Large Wall, 12 Outer Towers, 2 Bombard Towers, 25 Sheep, 24 Houses, 1 Market, 1 Blacksmith, 1 Monastery, 1 Barracks, 1 Archery Range - an entire city! On top of this you command 33 Long Swordsmen, 16 Spearmen, 16 Crossbowmen, 8 Scout Cavalry, 2 Monk and 4 Capped Rams.
Also, I've given this new 'City States' more natural resources, especially deer, wild boars, fish, and berry patches. Gold and Stone are placed better now so that they always spawn.
Overall, it gives the sense of empire. And, booned with 10 Relics to each map, it makes a spectacular siege battle. And, given a quick food start, you are easily able to replenish your dwindling forces.
All maps are playable online using the "Custom" feature when selecting "Map Style". You can also receive rank by playing them.
