This Scenario is a war between Muslims and Byzantine . The Muslims want to take back control of sacred Bodies of their Ancestors from Byzantines who took them by attacking a Muslim Tribe . This my 1st scenario after a long time so please forgive if there are any bugs
"The Sacred Ashes" is a simple, perhaps ES style build and destroy mission against an enemy across an ocean. The game was played to completion on both 1.4UP and 1.0c, however the game should be considered unplayable on UP1.4 as its villager AI is broken on this map for some reason;they all stood idle.
Its a build and destroy, with the goal to reacquire some relics. The gameplay itself was fairly normal and would normally gain a 2 or maybe 3 with some good challenge, but unfortunately a number of problems are here. For one, almost every building you own is bugged out so it cannot be used for storing resources, making units, etc etc. Also the AI will simply resign when you beat it, rendering the objectives moot.
It was extremely easy to pound the entire enemy city with cannon galleons, the only speedbump being the enemy fleet;in UP1.4 i managed to jump them one by one as they came out of their seawall fortress and in 1.0c a single castle on my own shores dispatched the whole lot by itself, after i had sniped their own cannon galleons off with hit n runs. The enemy army in both AoC versions used, came up repeatedly near the shore to get hit by my navy. Due to killing their TC with galleons, they were helpless anyway.
Sufficient attempt was made to differentiate itself from a random map with an overarching goal but the implementation was not there.
Map Design 2
Its a custom map similar to a random map in quality, but the oceans really needed some terrain mixing as they were purely water1.
Its the basic bare minimum of objectives and hints to avoid the minimum rating, but delivered with poor grammar and spelling. There was no ingame dialogue or victory message.
Final thoughts: With bugs effecting the game, not recommended for download.
