How To Transform Units During The Game In Any Other Unit (Task Swap ID Effect)
Recently, I looked for a way to transform units repeatedly. As technologies work only one time, I had to find another way
Randomly I found the 'Task Swap ID' box, and when I read the info next, I knew: 'My next RPG map will be awesome!'
What can you do with this effect?
With this effect, you can change an units graphics, stats etc during the game
For example, a man-at-arms can transform into an archer - useful for RPGs. And triggers with 'set object' still work after transformation
Also possible: teleport effect, different armors/weapons etc etc
The files you can download contain:
-an example .scx-file, which shows how this effect can be used
-an ai/per file, used in the example scenario
-a modified .dat-file, used for the effect
-a text file, which explains how to set up and modify this effect
Before you download this file, make sure to:
-have basic knowledges about modding, like changing unit stats etc.
-have basic knowledges about scenario designing, for example know how to put stone mines on the map ;-)
-have AdvancedGenieEditor installed
-have AOK/TC (whatever) installed
INFO: This effect works on all AOE versions, even FE/HD/TF/AK/AOC, but the example scenario and dat file may not work. If you read attentionally the tutorial, this won't be a problem, but it will take more time
INFO: This effect is useful if you want to change an unit's appearance/stats etc. many times. If you need only a one-time method, adding a new technology that upgrades the unit to another unit may be much easier
I want to see this effect used soon in many campaigns here on AOKH! :p
I forgot to mention the example scx is designed for UserPatch 1.4
The game will crash if you open the map without the patch
