The Teuton Conquest

Author File Description
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Build and Destroy
Number of scenarios: 3
This is my first Campaign, made in the AoK (TC) Scenario
Editor. These maps are what started my ambition for map making. While these are my first ever maps, I saw them as good enough for the public.

Any and all criticism is allowed, I would love to have feedback from anybody who plays the maps. They aren't what I would call "Outstanding" but I tried my best to create them with the knowledge of Triggers and map design that I had.

Please note: these maps are NOT based of any true story, simply from my imagination.

- 3 Scenarios
- Installation Guide
- Ways to contact me
- Q&A Section
- Map screenshots

Also includes a preview of my upcoming project "Rise of the Aztecs" The maps included can be played but are not 100% completed. * (Map design is finished, just some triggers and information are yet to be added) *

Also note that these scenarios aren't in .cpn format, this is so that you can edit them as you please. I do, however, encourage you to play them normally before doing so.

Any further questions can be sent to my email:

Thanks a lot for 100+ DL's. It means a lot to a starting-out map designer such as myself and really encourages me and others to continue what we're doing.

To keep you up to date, this is to those whom are interested in my "Rise of the Aztecs" maps, they are coming along nicely and I have currently chosen to revamp them. (Might not stay this way, I may revert back to the old versions). They should be released eventually but I am sick and busy with other projects on different games.

Nonetheless, thanks a bunch to everyone who shared, downloaded and even those who downloaded but didn't play it. Thanks for giving me a chance and I hope some of you look forward to any of my future work.

Hi conquestrial. I did take a brief look at the teutons scenario although i didnt have time to play it yet beyond the intro, as it looks quite substantial in gameplay.

One thing that caught my attention was the roadwork leading into the city. Its a bleak looking road1 terrain that doesnt give a good visual appeal. The map would be more inviting to play with some basic terrain texturing, and hopefully i wont cause any offense by linking a screenshot showing a suggested road pattern. I just hopped into the scen edit with your upload and spent a few minutes for this pic;

In order to create the road fast and simple, you turn the terrain between the forests into dirt3, then drag a brush sized2 of dirt1 terrain through that for a path, then single click in broken road terrain one at a time to make it a roadway. Replace just a few of those with a fungus road. After this take a size1 brush of grass3 and single click along the edges of the woodline where lots of leaves formed to tone them down a bit. You could also start with grass3 then use dirt3 for touchup. For the bushes i place some jungle terrain nearby then use the move function in the units placing area to pull them out of the jungle and put them into position, and remove the jungle terrain when finished

Hopefully you find that helpful in some way. But what i really wanted to comment about was your statement that the "map is quite crap" in the mission...well i dont think its mentally productive to think of your work in this way. Even if the map design isnt that good right now, you can always improve it a little step by step, playing other peoples top rated submissions and just slowly improving so you can take pride in your scenario that its a nice looking world, etc etc. I dont like that you just accept its not good and leave it like that. Just take 1 single step at a time to marginally improve the world, you dont need to jump from basic to Picasso in one go.

Thank you very much for your constructive criticism. I aim to spruce up the maps in my own time in the future when I have some more feedback.

I am in no way offended by your suggestions, but in fact pleased that you pointed out something you didn't like and notified me about it, and I'll take your comment into high consideration.

On another note, just thank you personally for actually taking the time to download the map. I do hope you get the time to play it and such and would love an overall after you're done. It means a lot as a designer to hear from others what they think of your work.

Lastly, thank you for giving my submission some recognition, means a bunch.
