Early 20th Centurey Rifleman Graphic

Author File Description
Cactiguy
File Details
Version: The Conquerors
Screenshot:
This is a unit graphic I made using a model from tf3dm by 3dregenerator, but was textured, rigged and animated by me. Feel free to use it, just make sure to give me credit!

The pack contains Idle, Walking, Shooting, Dying and Dead graphics in an SLP, and an Icon graphic in Bmp format.

This rifleman unit by Cactiguy is a new unit designed to be used in scenarios and made Packs set within the early 20th Century.

Usefulness/Novelty: 3
There are a number of Mod Packs in our Blacksmith whichadd army men into the game, all of varying quality. Big Travis and Agamemnon have both previously provided us with 20th century soldiers, and others have also used the cheat units from the original Age of Empires game. Cactiguy here provides us with an alternative unit to use. Whilst there is a lot of these types of units their usefulness in a game like AOK is limited. AOK is a medieval game, set during the Middle Ages, and thus it is very rare to see any scenarios set in modern history, particularly the 20th century. Therefore the need or usefulness kid the unit is low.

Quality/Instructions: 3
This is Cactiguy’s first attempt at a 3D tendered unit, and in that respect he has done well. The unit is detailed and moves well with smooth animations. The graphics also blend in well with the rest of the game, has player colour and the unit comes with a custom icon. However, there are some noticeable flaws to the units design. Firstly I’m not sure if it’s just me but the angle of the unit looks slightly off, and doesn’t seem to fit AOK isometric design. The unit also looks unrealistic with a much longer torso than its legs making it out of proportion.

Additional Comments:
Overall this is a decent attempt for a first 3D unit but has noticeable flaws and limited use.

Well Done
