Hello guys

this is my first upload. I'm looking for ideas for this scenario. The basic idea is to tell about the origins of Russia, starting with the arrival of the Varangians in the city of Novgorod. I will gladly accept modifications and sugestions criticism about the aestethics are also welcome.

Since this is a project and for now doesn't have any gameplay, playability, balance and instructions will be rated 1.

Playability: 1
I would suggest making this either B&D or FF or mix. If going for B&D, give player an army to conquer a town for themselves, or a starting village from which they must expand. In FF I would suggest several tiny settlements to be attacked with a small band of units. Maybe trying to mix more: Starting with a small army, plundering some villages for resources and then capture one village, followed by a Defend the spot part making, for example, Novgorod surrender by taking their fortress by surprise and defend it for 10 minutes, then B&D with Novgorod city versus two of their rivals.

Balance: 1
When dealing with balance, all I can suggest you is making it challenging on hard and moderate, and fairly easy on standard. Try doing that by custom created AI (some great tools and pieces of advice can be found in the AI and RM forum). To get good scores here, the game must be winnable, but the player must work for it. Creating free wins with Imperial age army of Paladins vs a bunch of militias is pointless.

Creativity: 4
This promising project could provide the missing Slav campaign. The base idea is good, with Slav civilization representing people of Novgorod, modern day Russia. I would further expand this by creating a (fictional, like in Bari Campaign) family and follow them trough time; Novgorod was a very important trading city in medieval ages.

Map Design: 3
Map design so far is okay. I only counted the parts of already modified random map, which serves as a base for author's creation. A bit more terrain mixing and definitely more elevation. Try downloading some scenarios, rated 4 and higher in map design and that feature winter scenes for some ideas.

Story/Instructions: 1
I would suggest you continue with this project and try to implement as much history as possible. Novgorod was a major trade city in medieval Europe. There are a lot of documents form that time, mostly from Hansa cities that have records of Novgorod inside

Additional Comments: Turning this into a trade-to-win scenario from Novgorod's point of view isn't a bad idea either. Hansa is a great source of potential for a great scenario. I think there are some campaigns about it already, but a good campaign featuring a good story is always welcome. This project could turn into a long awaited Slav campaign.
