File Details
Version: Age of Kings HD
Required Modpack (if not included with the download): African Kingdoms
Style: Build and Destroy

This battle was the result of the Portuguese monopoly over trade with India in the late-15th and 16th centuries. The Portuguese guarded their new-found routes to Asia very well.

The English established the East India Company also known as "The John Company" to counter the Portuguese.

Sir William Hawkins led the first voyage of the English East India Company to India and sailed into the Gujarat port of Surat on 24 August 1608 aboard the Hector. He had with him 25,000 pieces of gold and a personal letter to the Mughal Emperor Jehangir from King James I seeking trade concessions. He persisted for over two years, however Portuguese pirates stole his gold, and tried several times to murder him while on shore. He returned to England empty-handed.

The tenth voyage (1612-1614) on behalf of the English East India Company was led by Captain Thomas Best. It set out from Gravesend on 1612 eventually reaching Surat on 5 September 1612. Surat was the principal port for the Mughals.

Captain Thomas Best while acquiring permission to trade got the news that some of his men ashore have been arrested and a squadron of Portuguese ships was sailing to attack him.
The gritty Captain Best prepared for the battle.

Features:
1. This scenario is a proper Build and destroy scenario.
2. The initial part of the scenario is a fixed force scenario.
3. The enemy's AI puts up a good fight and don't be surprised if you lose.

Notes:
1. The AI files will have to be put in their respective folder.
2. This is a difficult scenario made by an average player. So the difficulty level is subjective.
3. The scenario is based on a historical event but some elements are added for better game play.
4. The AI files in this scenario have been downloaded from the blacksmith.

This is my first submission to the Blacksmith. But I am not completely unfamiliar with the editor. As a kid I use to make fun scenarios for my younger cousins to enjoy. During those days I was unaware of such site. I hope this won't be my last submission to blacksmith.
Special thanks to GREAT ARTISTE who helped me in every aspect of designing and is also the play tester for this.
A big thanks to BASSI who is the creator of the AI used in this scenario.
Any kind of feedback and criticism is welcome

UPDATE:

The enemy has better access to siege so a castle push becomes a little more difficult.
Bassi Chandragupt, I recognized that you used one of my AI scripts (I think it's one from Kings of Destruction). Please give credit next time. And btw: The AI you used is not completely functionally, since it needs some trigger mechanics to trigger some commands.
If you have difficulties to find proper AIs for your scenarios, you can directly ask me for help.

I am extremely sorry for that, I actually downloaded a lot of AIs from blacksmiths to test them and everything and the renames got messed up with the other scenario AIs.The thing is I shouldn't have renamed them before I tested them. I will give you credit right away.

I did use some simple triggers to get the required result though.

Bassi It's OK! I'm not disgruntled about it. As already said, if you need help in the future, just ask me. The offer still holds.

Thank-you for the 100+ downloads guys!!!
noble lancer hope to see this being uploaded to steam workshop in the near future! Since the scenario is designed with HD in mind I think it is slightly easier for us to follow updates over there :)
