A custom 3-scenario campaign, focussing on the major battles of the Wendish Crusade(1147), the first major effort by Christian Europe to defeat the pagan Wends. Part 2 is in development. Enjoy the following:
-- Diverse mission objectives.
-- (Very amateur!) Voiced pre-game cutscenes
-- Dozens of in-game triggers
-- A fair difficulty curve; starts simple, gets more challenging
-- Over 3 hours' playtime.
This campaign is of intermediate difficulty; anyone who can beat Random Map AI on Moderate is guaranteed a fair playthrough. If you're having problems hearing the cutscenes, ensure the Music slider in Options is turned all the way up.
The Forgotten expansion is required. To install, simply paste the contents of the .zip to the 'Mods' folder in your AOE2HD directory.
Hi baron, this is a good effort. I enjoyed the games but they were a bit rough around the edges at times. I liked the mix of objectives and it seems a slight improvement over the last campaign you made.
In mission two the danes routinely get stuck on the beach, even though I have the entire area secured with castles and a clear path left open. Make some looping task triggers or patrol triggers on those troops and maybe clear the path even more by removing a few trees and\or having a very wide lane for them to move in.
The map design is quite plain. Especially in mission two, it looks quite strange with the darker water near the land, try placing water in bands with shallow near shore, medium a bit further then a layer of deep. On land in all scenarios you could try placing some gaia trees to break up forest lines instead of using the terrain tool. Ive got a guide on basic terrain on steam here;
There is a bit too much stone overall, I often spammed castles like mad which tends to break the scenarios a little bit.
In mission one its hard to tell what is going on, maybe put some outposts from the player in the allied cities.
