Version: Age of Kings
My first go with AoK, it is only worth playing if you set the level to Hardest (unless you're new to this game).<p> Included are a .bmp and a text file as well as the .scn of course.

Bob When your contest for the "Best Single Player Scenario" takes place, this gets my vote as number one.

The Normans, being low on food, plan to take over the north of your valley. After decades of piece you are not prepared and have to build up an army. The review was done playing original AoK on the hardest level, as the author requested in the read me and on the authors description.

PLAYABILITY:This is an enjoyable B&D and if you like B&D and original AoK the scenario is a pleasent way to pass your time. The ancient paths are partielly blocked by trees, have some villagers with you and be prepared for attacks. Both objectives lead to instant victory, so place the relic besides the monestary, play on hardest and drive the Normans out of the valley. 4
- Placing the relic in the monestary leads to ealy victory, which is sad. Both objectives should have been mandatory.

BALANCE: The scenario has its challenging moments, unfortunately too easy for the expierienced player. This is due to to the fact that the enemy can not take you by surprise, as there is only one bridge and one path leading to your home base. 3

CREATIVITY: Apart from the bitmap and the map, there is nothing else to mention. 2+

MAP DESIGN: The map design is done from scratch, but it looks somehow like an advanced random map. A river through a valley deviding the home land of the two tribes, with only one unbroken bridge connecting. The forest is done with a big brush, but has many paths on which trees have gown. Apart from wood, the landscape is dominated by cliffs. 3

STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: A small comprehensive story and clear objectives, you have to drive the Normans out of the valley or recover an ancient relic. The author provides a bitmap which shows the valley in which the scenario takes place. Hints are not necessary to score this category and you are told: "Come on... you don't want it made easy do you??" 4-

OVERALL: Worth to download.
