So far just a detailed map that I have been working on for a while. There are only a few triggers, no story. I am open for any ideas, or help, other wise I'll probably just release it as a showcase scenario.

Just Juice is a Project by Lil-Lebowski. So only the map design element of the project has been completed and thus this file has not playability elements and is purely intended to show off the map design element of the project; therefore I will be examining only that aspect of the scenario, along with the creativity (of the map design). Playability and balance do not apply here.

The author of Just Juice is a skilled designer and has clearly taken much inspiration from many of the showcase scenario and university articles found here in the heaven. You can see many signs of a talented designer and familiar situations. However, there doesn't seem to be anything that really makes the map stand out. While much skill has been shown, there's nothing new here. Just alot of familiar scenes that you will find in a majority of other showcase maps.

Map Design: 4
The author demonstrates much skill and knowledge with the scenario editor and this is very clear when you look at this map. While it is in no way perfect, the map shows off many map designing tricks. Terrain mixing has been used effectively and many nice map tricks have been used such as ice waterfalls, sea caves and overlapped buildings. Most of the map is a sight to behold and is very aesthetically pleasing. Eye-candy has been used beautifully and the map is covered in much flora and foliage. Towns are nicely designed with good building layouts, although one or two of the overlapped buildings look a bit odd. There are some areas of the map that look quite odd. The most obvious occurrence of this is the snowy mountains and forest that sits right next to a jungle.

Story/Instructions: 3
Here I will be focusing on the atmosphere of the map. While this wasn't designed as a normal Showcase scenario which are supposed to be an immersive experience, maps still possess and atmosphere based on the ideas and story behind the design. There is an attempt of this as triggers have been used i a couple of areas where if you stand there the camera will move to show you a grander view of the landscape. This is apparent in the grand waterfalls. It is clear that the map was designed for an unreleased playable scenario and there are a number of units and design elements that point to the building of a larger interactive world. It's just a shame that these weren't implemented more. There is also a lack of instructions on the background of the scenario and how to install it for new players.

Additional Comments:
Overall this is a very well crafted piece of map design and shows the makings of a promising designer. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this author.

Thanks
Possidon
