Another "battle royale!" O Joy!

I'm sorry, I don't like these kinds of games, but I guess there must be plenty of people who do, because scenario writers keep writing them.

Just for the record: "battle royale" is a scenario in which you don't build, and where you start the scenario with more than 75 units (or you can get them somehow during the scenario). The idea of such scenarios is to handle masses of troops, and really nothing else.

Okay, so this really doesn't describe the "france strugle" scenario. It's more of an "it's all done for you but the fighting" scenario.

You start with huge resource fields (but at least you _do_ have to go mine or gather them, unlike in some scenarios where you already have it in stockpile). You start with everything built for you pretty much. You even get dozens of relics, plus the monasteries to store them in.

What's left for you to do? Age 3 times, maybe build some buildings closer to the enemy, _find_ the enemy, and go kill. *yawn*

Like I wrote earlier, some people must love this, or why would writers keep coming up with scenarios like this? So if you think "Why do I have to spend all that time building, harvesting, aging, and creating an army? Wouldn't it be great if I got all sorts of stuff right away and could get straight to the fighting?" then this game is for you. Enjoy!

This is a scenario were you must defeat the enemy. During the lack of history we only know it's france (you) against the Britons (enemy).

Playability: 1

This was not enjoyable at all. Your enemy starts in dark age with 2 thick walls stretched all over the map. There is (almost) unlimited stockpiles of resources all over the map. You star with 9999' of all resources and about 20 relics close to your monastery. This means you can quickly build up your forces and destroy your enemy very fast. It didn't lag and that was the only good part.

Balance: 1

It's was rather boring and I didn't meet any challenge at all. Because of the huge amount of resources, I could encounter my enemy's very easy. I also had 3 allies who could help me in trouble. The only thing that could be kind of annoying was the 2 thick walls. But because of the walls the enemy couldn't even attack me or my allies.

Creativity: 1

There was no creativity at all. No triggers or unique eyecandy's. All the amount of rescources and copyed trees was just bad-looking.

Map Design: 1

The map design was not very enjoyable. You have lots of copied trees that looks very strange and not-fited to the rest of the map. unrealistic placed houses and squares of Gold/stone-mines. There were also a lot of fish of only one-kind.Your allies start with town-centers close to a forest. No eyecandy's either.

Story/Instructions: 1

This was the worst point. There were no instructions at all, just blank. Not even a story. I didn't know why I was playing because there weren't any goals.

Personal comments: It was a long time since you did this scenario and I hope you have learned much since that time.
