This scenario totally is not like Star Wars. Not even close to it, execpt for the objectives, which were "Destroy the Death Star", "Destroy the Emperor's Palace", and "Destroy a major port of the Empire's to weaken them". Some of the objectives were fun, especially the destroy the Death Star objective, where you have to destory a bunch of towers on an island with your (elite) cannon galleons, which, of course, outranged them. Destroying the port was the so-so objective, which was not easy and not hard. Not easy because it happened to be on the edge of the forest, not hard because the defenses were all on the other side of the forest, which were some wolves. Probably the hardest one was the destruction of the emperor's palace, which was a castle, guarded with two gates, double tile wide walls, a few towers, and a bunch of troops. It was hard, but it was fun! I would play this again.
The instructions were not so good. They were very basic, with only your objectives on there and the sentence "May the Force be with you"on it with some hints and no bitmap.
The map design is nothing good, but it is not like a map that was cobbled up in 15 minutes. There were forests that were not square, nice relics here and there, but only 1 type of water in a very wide river.
This scenario would probably be better if it were a bit easier (or harder, on different difficulty settings by making a trigger and setting the condition to moderate or something), and it would be a lot better if it had better terrain (the Death Star's island was a perfect square) and some trails, maybe some deer, things like that.
Overall, this scenario is a pretty average one, but only due to the lack of effort and time that went into it. Hey, most scenarios take 1 week to as many as 2 months! Still, remember to playtest, playtest, and playtest to be sure that your scenario can get a high rating. |
