I was trying to recreate Constantinople, capital of Byzantine Empire before the capture by the Turks. The map was created as realistic as possible, according to plans of the city at the time. Because of certain limitains in the Age of Empires II software, I tried to recreate Constantinople as realistic as possible! It is an excellent scenerio, you do not have to level the city, but just kill the king, who should be hiding in one of the castles!on the map.
"Conquer of Constantinople" is yet another take on the classic siege scenario.
I actually had some enjoyment this time around, maybe because the AI has infinite resources and can actually make some units, but in the end its really simple;you need to make an amphibious landing supported by your unopposed navy, push with bombard towers, and kill a king.
The player has infinite resources, but so does the enemy. Still, only the player knows how to spam bombard towers and castles here;this combined with the fact your cannon galleons are unopposed and can level half the city makes it an inevitable victory. The enemy does have several hundred bombard towers, but they lack the range to pose a threat and are mostly placed on the land side of the city.
Ill give it a bump up from the minimum simply for the intense landing part, but its really easy.
There is very little here to differentiate the game from other sieges of the same name.
Map Design 2
About on par with a random map, and the main city is as so often just a ton of road1 with boringly placed buildings in long straight lines.
There is a hints section, but its fairly basic advice;why encourage the player to research spies? Might as well type marco polo so you can disable it when desired. There is nothing outside of hints, and the objective to kill the king is not mentioned inside the game.
Final thoughts:A slow paced bombard tower construction simulator.
