This is a simulation of the Battle of Bannockburn, 1314 A.D., in which Robert the Bruce won independence for Scotland by defeating the English forces of Edward II. You play the Scottish, with suggestions from Robert. The map, the starting positions of the troops, and the movement of the English are all historically accurate.
This is a massive overhaul of my earlier submission on Bannockburn. The most important addition is an idle ai that allows me to move the English troops much more precisely. For the most accurate effects, play on moderate difficulty.
Note: this is not, nor is it intended to be, an RPG-type game. Rather, it is a set piece battle. If you are looking for a good RPG-type campaign involving Robert the Bruce, try Teuchter's Scotland 2.
If you like history-based games then this is one to download. Snowman has put a lot
of effort into recreating one of the most famous and significant battles of the middle
ages. Disperse your troops, get your tactics right and give those English a good
the laffing celt

Bannockburn! I have a strong interest in historical re-creations. This is good 'un! I thought to play it once and then let it gather harddrive dust but there's more than enough challenge in it to make it replayable quite often. Especilly if you are hooked on Scots history. Congrats and thnx to eSnowman on a nice job well done.
